So, no good closeup pics but here are a couple I thought were good enough to post here:
This one is heading north on RT 3, with the mountains and clouds, I thought it was interesting:
    IMG_7379.jpg

You can see the erosion in this one. The breakdown lane north bound is gone, they had us in the south bound travel lane for close to 2 miles.

    IMG_7386.jpg

    Edit:
The kicker is, it’s still only being reported as “shoulders closed”. More like “shoulders gone, travel down to one lane. Expect delays.”
The North Country is often neglected by the major media outlets and to an extent, the state. Why they’re not reporting this accurately must, imho, be an attempt to not discourage visitors coming up.

There’s a 2 lane road not far from the house that washed out completely and they had to close that road. The news said it should be opened in 2 months, that was in January and it’s still closed.

Yikes. There must be fairly easy access to alternative routes.

I’d be surprised if these repairs weren’t completed by winter though who knows with the amount of funding cuts our DOT has undergone over the years.

My favored route along the Connecticut River is completely washed out in sections. It’s unknown when it’ll open up again. That too would be expected to be repaired before winter but again :notsure:

Looks like you’re directing it right at that garage door in the last pic :D

Did some paperwork in the morning and had a time getting rolling after that...

Fell asleep in the chair. :anonymous:

Only mowed 4 lawns today, the other three fortunately don't grow as fast - they also look pretty brown and ragged. It wasn't all that hot but not nice either, unusual for me I ran the AC on the way home.

Excellent! Just enough to make you earn that cat and nap time.

The mowing isn't so bad - the trimming and brush cutting on the other hand...

Having the saws, ladders, chipper, shredder, etc is all well and good but when you have to load & lug the stuff all over the place and do all the work it becomes a multi-day extravaganza. :bananadead:

    I understand.

My own place is enjoyable, but it is a " handful" to keep in check.

Having an absentee owner vacant lot to the west of me makes it a bit more of a headache.

There are several 14" trees leaning heavily east into my yard...

They may or may not have been "ringed".

We will know more this fall.

Got nothing in this 3” x 6” x 1/4” x 10’ tubing or poles so here comes a deer skinning rack off the back of the shop.

    upload_2024-7-12_21-11-48.jpg

That piece of tape on the handle is at 4’.

    upload_2024-7-12_21-12-21.jpg

Got water to the right of the pole.

    upload_2024-7-12_21-12-47.jpg

Poles are as wide as the door so I can still drive whatever through the shop.
