Things to Come (1936). Faewsome. Much better sci fi sets than Flash Gordon, but too little on action and heavier on boring dialogue.

Dodsworth (1936). Prime. Good lovey dovey film.

Tour de France coverage, stages 8 & 9 - 114 & 123 miles, small rollings hills, favoring the sprinters. No major change in leaders standings.

Eddie Murphy did not age at all.

 

I watched the new Beverly Hills Cop movie on NF. I thought Murphy looked better than most of the old actors. The guy playing Rosewood looked horrid and Taggart looked old too. Serge might have aged the best. I enjoyed the play between the old un-p.c. theme of the original, vs. how the world is today.

 

Dare I mention we are watching The Chosen S4, E3 and E4 are very moving for us.

The River (1936). Tubi. Award winning documentary about the Mississippi river.

La Regle du Jeu (1939). On OK website. Rules of the Game is title translation from French. Controversial film that was banned for a time due to moral content. It was a bit drawn out but entertaining.

 

Latest episode of House of the Dragon was really good

 

Ripley- NF Done in b&w. Probably B+ for me. Good acting

 

Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga

Very enjoyable. Lots of action from beginning to end.

 

Ninotchka (1939). On OK website. A funny lovey dovey flick, with Greta Garbo.

Freiheit (Freedom; 2017). Tubi. A sad but very intriguing film. A woman abandons her family and career to pursue her freedom.

Tour de France coverage. Stage 10 - 116 mile sprinter’s stage. No change in leaders standings. Back to the mountains tomorrow; standings may change.

The Shop Around the Corner (1940). On OK website. An entertaining lovey dovey film with James Stewart.

French Windows (1972). YouTube. An experimental animation featuring Pink Floyd’s One of these Days. It is not a music video.

Tour de France coverage. Stage 11 - 131 mile mountainous stage. No change in leaders standings but some times have changed.

His Girl Friday (1940). Tubi. Romantic comedy with Cary Grant. It was entertaining.

Tour de France coverage. Stage 12 - 126 mile mostly flat stage. No change in leaders standings.

Wings (1927). Tubi. Good plane flying sequences and stunts. Won the first Academy award, and, until 2011, the only silent film to do so.

The Philadelphia Story (1940). Tubi. Entertaining lovey dovey story with Katherine Hepburn, Gary Cooper and James Stewart, who won an Oscar for his performance.

Tour de France coverage. Stages 13 & 14. Into the steep mountains, Vingegaard jumps to second but Pogacar extends his lead.
Overall individual standings:

First Man, we rented it on Apple TV. How this movie went under the radar for me is crazy, hadn't even heard of it until last week. Follows the story of Neil Armstrong's journey into the NASA program and moon landing. Best I've seen, was incredibly well done imo. Highly recommend.
