It's your fault I was up all night listing to 80's and 90's rock........
    Got a good playlist now.

Kix, LA Guns, Slaughter, Damn Yankees, Tesla.....Often forgotten bands.

Brings back memories working on dirt bikes in the garage of my dads old place.

I keep forgetting that Amanda and I have full-time jobs! Instead of sharing the 2013 Murano with my mom and working out the logistics of that, Amanda and I are going to rent from Enterprise. The Taco gets dropped off at Pete’s on Monday and should done by Thursday at the latest if all goes according to plan.

On another note, Amanda sat in new Mitsubishi Mirage at the Lehigh Valley Auto Show in March and liked it. The Mirage is actually quite affordable and even though Amanda and I work extraordinarily similar hours at the same place, it would be nice for her to have her own vehicle at some point, so this will give her the chance to really test drive one without pressure from a salesperson!

We despise the mirage, its barely a car, awful experience to drive.

I'd want the Sentra even if it is CVT haha, but honestly comfort first. Always.

I wouldn't touch a Nissan CVT, that has to be one of the worst transmissions ever next to the GM 6 speeds. Not sure if Mistubishi is any better (don't see many around here) but I think they use the same transmission manufacturer (Jatco) for their CVTs.

I worked at nissan for 1 year and did 2 cvts a week, when I got to Toyota they had converter issues and I blasted out the jobs. No one understood how bad Nissan CVTs were.

Current Nissan CVTs are better, I think its like 3rd or 4th gen now. But I agree. Toyota CVTs have very few problems, especially the hybrids, but they are typically a snore to drive.

I briefly owned a CVT subaru and they had major issues for years with the forester CVTs.

I dunno, those Mirages can take a beating. I kinda like it ( wouldn’t wanna be in an accident with it, though)

At this point it just seems like it's a race to the bottom across the board, between government regulation, unnecessary tech, trying to squeeze out that last 0.001 mpg while still meeting emissions, and trying to save that last cent on manufacturing costs everything is just made more cheaply, is less reliable, and costs a ton more.

When it does break OEM parts are insanely expensive, discontinued (even on vehicles less than 10 years old), and/or on intergalactic backorder and the majority of aftermarket parts are just straight up garbage.
It has gotten a little better this past year with parts availability but I don't see it ever getting back to what it was pre-covid.

I still think Toyota has the best overall build quality but even that isn't what it used to be.

Click and Clack Tappet taught me long ago as long as the thing is structurally sound (IE frame, floors type thing) it is almost always cheaper to fix versus replace a vehicle.

Told my friend the other night that yes I dropped about 4 grand last year on it but there were years it didn't cost me that much or even near it. So that's say $325 a month. Now what can I buy now for that monthly payment? Exactly..

The wise idea. I only rented the 22 DC this year because it wasn't ultimately on my dime.

Rather see her in a used Corolla than a Mirage. As enticing as the Mirage might be, that thing cannot be safe in a collision with the bro dozers.

Or look at CPO Mitsubishi SUVs. Outlander Sport is a great vehicle.

She shared a 2015 Outlander Sport with her psycho bitch former friend for the longest time; I drove it once and I liked it. Problem is she wants something she can pay cash for; I have yet to see any decent Outlanders priced that low. Used Corollas are definitely in her price range…

My dad has COVID for the third time since August 2022, so he has to stay home from work. This solves the car issue, because my mom will drive my dad’s Yukon, while Amanda and I get to use the Murano; I am asymptomatic at this point and not going to bother to test.
