Yep. I have some gear wrench that have always performed well. I found that Milwaukee sells some metric only sets at various shaft sizes for under $100 each.

I get weird with tools and want 5 or 6 different shapes and sizes of 10, 12, 14, 17, and 19 mm. I think I need a set of JIS wrenches from Japan.

Huh, I've heard of JIS screwdrivers but never JIS wrenches. What makes them different from the stuff we're used to in the US?

Should be the same MM. It's just not buying 11mm, 13mm, 15mm and the sizes I rarely use.

I tired cleaning up the wires where they connect to the coils and resetting them. No effect. I’m gonna go to Autozone and get some NGK wires, and maybe rent a compression test kit too.

Yea that was on Friday when I was dicking around with it. I was busy yesterday with work and stuff. I would try inspecting the timing belt, but I don’t really know how to tell if it’s skipped timing. If new wires don’t fix it I’m just gonna take it to a real mechanic.

Make a mcmasterr car account. Super useful for everything. But i order single wrenches and sockets there if i ever need a weird size or lose one. And they ship good stuff. I’ve gotten williams and gear wrench stuff for wrenches and williams and snapon when I’ve ordered sockets

Oh yes. I already have one. Long-term customer. They have some special worm clamps that are great for CV boot trail repair.

So like, you just say what size you need but the brand you get is a surprise?

Ah, if that's all it is then I guess I built myself a JIS set for the tool roll I keep in my truck. I used Tekton sockets (they sell everything individually) and old Craftsman wrenches I've picked up used from various places.

Yeah you basically just order the size you need and brand is kimda random. Bit typical I’ve always got williams stuff. Did get snapon once and gear wrench too when ordering wrenches and sockets

@6P4 i been getting the williams super combo ratcheting ones from them. Its nice to be able to get a single high quality wrench as needed.

what i do at work is get like a decent quality set of wrenches like gear wrench a as i break or lose one i replace it with what ever mc master carr offers. Because a set of gear wrench might be like 120$ a equal set of the williams is 400$

Yeah, I'm a fan of that approach, both for pros and home tool users. Buy modest stuff to start with (not so cheap it's disposable, but not fancy) and only upgrade if those tools fail to meet your needs somehow.

The scary thing about having ADHD and a bunch of tools is, it's easy to make other shit you didn't expect to :anonymous:
