I did my plumbing and heat exchanger for like $150. Whole water to air system on my truck was less than $300. But the core for yours would probably be at a minimum a $500 bill

Well that's reassuring to hear. The plot thickens....
it would be awesome to pioneer a 3rz SC intercooler setup and try to push things a little more.

Spent about 2hrs doing boost control tuning with my friend, truck doesn't complain about pull after pull. The end result was worth it, lots of PID tweaking but now it comes up to slap target nice and quick and doesn't need to trim anymore. We also added a temp correction axis so it can stay closer and not have to trim as much for varying conditions. Now that we really know what we're doing with the PID stuff, I'm not thinking about a smaller turbo anymore, it comes up on boost much faster now. Also did a bit of efficiency tuning but haven't had much time to drive to see what it did to MPG.

    :anonymous: what's PID?

The boomslang harness came with a pair of wires labeled Boost Control even though I never mentioned having a turbo, hopefully they come in handy later on

I'm guessing they are only helpful with an electronic boost controller so I'll need to ditch the manual controller sooner than later which is fine, it's turned all the way down and not doing anything at the moment.

Super long shot, but does anyone have a URD turbo port fueler they want to sell?

Not really on topic but I switched insurance last week and plugged my COBB AP back into the Golf and reconfigured some readouts. Turns out much like the torque request methodology I was mentioning, the Golf actually fully opens the throttle plate very early on, then uses boost regulation to give you a desired torque based on the pedal position. Pretty neat - makes me wish my Taco had an e-throttle now.

Another weird thing it does is richens up to like 13AFR for a few seconds as/after you stop.

I think you would need a 2500T for that as well to have that much control over torque output

If I plug the Haltech into the truck will it let me open it up on NSP.

Yes. Disconnect battery first. You'll need the latest software on your lap top.

The laptop updated software last night.

Another thing I should probably address is a circuit breaker. I upgraded the alternator and put Zanes battery cables on last year but never did a breaker.

Well... Don't even need that exactly per se, but if I could have control over throttle position I could do all sorts of things

Well you can always go DBW, a bosch TB isn't very expensive, you do have a 2500 afterall. I don't have any driving issues from part throttle high boost, but I also don't just sit like that either, I just open the throttle with my foot and my boost follows my throttle pretty well. Still sounds like a setup issue

He meant for me to disconnect the truck battery before plugging in the Haltech so nothing gets fried.

Finally going to wire a pull-down resistor into my speed signal wire. Just been operating without a speed signal haha. But I want to use gear detection since first gear and second gear are tire roastingly spicy now
