Ehh possibly but in the 2024 models they now have over the air updates available. They will continue to make the tech better kinda like on the iPhone there are updates to improve this or that

The tech is nice, when it's been tried and true.

The problem here is that it's still new, and you'll be the one testing it.

Hopefully OTA updates are able to get it working right.

One thing I'd be worried about is discontinued support, just like they do with all other kinds of tech.

    :fingerscrossed:

That does seem to be the direction we're heading in. Pixels now come with what, 7 years of security updates?

Right to Repair has been gaining quite a bit of traction. Worst case, you'll have to swap a module or two in a few years. No biggie.

Yup my thinking precisely, don’t forget tech cab only “go” so far . Gonna come a point where it “bottoms” out in my opinion

This kind of tech (over the air updates, sign recognition, etc) is nothing new and has been in use for over over a decade with other manufacturers. I wouldn’t doubt if it’s been used for years on Lexus and higher trim Toyotas and now making its way to Tacoma’s.

Can't believe XM radio is still hanging on like some sort of diseased barnacle.

It wasn't long ago that six disc changers were all the thing and cost a good 500 to 700. Even in the early 2010s. That aged like milk.

Oh for sure, that's one of Tesla's selling points.

But that's what I was thinking; it's not necessarily new tech, but new tech to a new model. It's bound to have some growing pains, just like all new designs.

Mine seems to pick them out pretty good.

What I wish I could figure out is if you can stop the speed limit thing from turning red if you exceed the speed limit. Not that I do as such... :anonymous:

No, but we're overrun by them in the city. Probably because a 200 lbs deer doesn't kill occupants, a 800 lbs moose can. That's why there's many of these signs: [IMG][IMG]

Last I heard Toyota doesn’t, but GM was/is doing it. GM got into a little trouble for signing up customers without their knowledge.

Love to know what the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection would do going 65mph if a Deer, Bear or Moose was in the road?

My wife’s Prius picks up a few signs and every once in a while it goes wacky. There’s one street that the speed limit is 35 and her car says 75!
