Bonus round: I ordered a flex fuel sensor.

 

You can tell it's never been touched.
I guess that's why there was a random 7mm bolt in that spot

 

Well I guess my dash clock is going to need reset...

Battery is still disconnected.

I'm liking the idea of a locking 4runner glove box to ad half a second worth of security in the future

 

I'm guessing you bought from snp and you have a base map?

 

Sure, it should be pretty easy, only 95-97 has this dumb style of speed sensor.

 

I got the 2500 directly from haltech. I did at least order SNP injectors.

The only map I have is what Zane posted a while back for someone else and it's not quite what I need. There's a lot I don't understand so I don't want to make changes but I did power up the Haltech and open it up on NSP.
It was 100°f and humid in the garage and my laptop got hot fast so I didn't stay out there long
It's raining now so that should cool things off (and hopefully help the Cedar wildlife that started yesterday)

 

RX7 is out of the shop, runs like a champ, lots of fun to drive, spent most of yesterday driving it around while we dialed the tune in. Bonus, learned how to PWM control electric engine fans. Which is great since I picked up an OEM unit from a Ford Flex that is nearly the same dimensions as the 5vz radiator.

 

@Speedytech7 it's probably still pretty early bud any updates on how your recent eco tuning went

 

I've done like 75mi on this tank and that includes the dyno sessions from 2 weeks ago and the bit of tuning we did for a couple hours the other day. I'll know more in about a week and a half. I don't drive the truck much otherwise.

If I disconnected my battery every time I switched connectors I'd be 10lbs lighter

 

Sounds like reason enough to unplug it

 

Alright no speed sensor for now, the issue wasn't the sensor going high, it actually goes low but the switch is a reed switch and needs hardware debouncing. That's why it was picking up insane speeds it's the reeds bouncing on each other when making contact. Unfortunately there's no glitch filter for this channel built in.



I'll make a simple debounce circuit but I have no capacitors on hand right now

 

@Speedytech7 do you happen to have the brain power, time, and will to help me along with NSP? @Jon64l was kind enough to lend some assistance but we got lost when it comes to functions being left to the stock ECU

@Digiratus (or anyone else running the 2500 with an auto trans) do you happen to have some helpful insights you'd be willing to provide

 

I'm more than willing to get you setup to start tuning. I'll send you some info tomorrow and we can go from there.

I'll be very interested to see how your journey unfolds. Particularly in how your A340F behaves when it loses some of it's lifelines.

 

The mileage does concern me at times.
I think if it were to Grenade I'd have a hard time making a decision about it's replacement. Hopefully that's not in the near future
