New here thought I'd share my tacoma's history or atleast what I've documented...

Here goes... from the start to where its at now...

That looks great. What are you doing with the bins from behind your seat?

 

They are just sitting in my basement... no plans for them as of now... probably hanging onto them incase I trade the thing in. I've thought about modifying them and making someone a nice setup I could just resale and ship... probably a single 10 or 2 8's on the 60 side and an amprack on the 40 side...

 

Let me know if you want to meet up or if you want anything audio done to your tacoma...

I only charge for materials and like to teach people the tricks of the trade...

Consider it a win, win for the owner/car...

The most recent upgrade is the new Alpine type R shallow 10's and i'd say those brought it to studio level sound...

Not sure a video would do it any justice...

I'll be honest your install makes me scared for what may happen if I enjoy doing my much simpler install of door speakers / a small sub lol. You look like you've had a lifetime enjoyment of music

 

I've wanted to hear the new Type R shallows but haven't had a chance. You think they're that big of an improvement over the Kenwood shallows?


What Focal kit are you running up front? What type of processing do you have available too?

 

I have the biggest love for music... Once I realized I wasn't ever gonna cut it as a musician I focused my energy on recreating in as well as I could in all my cars...

 

I'm running an H701 and I'm only using the mid from a 165v3 set at this point... The type r are a huge step up from the kenwoods, these things sound like a conventional woofer... Similar to a w3 but with a sufficiently higher output! I'm firmly behind these lil guys!

I think they are night and day... They actually sound like subs! They easily play down where the kenwoods wouldn't... The improvement in power handling and airspace made these perfect for my application... Something about a PDX 1.1000 and those 200watt rms kenwoods wasn't a good combo... Imagine that?

hey i'm in the process of adding sub/s to my truck. i already have all my door speakers as alpine type r's (6.5 all around components and tweeters in the front and coaxials in the rear.) with an alpine PDX f4 amp. i want to add maybe two 10's and an alpine PDX m6 with them. should i got type r's subs? and also should i just built my own box or have someone build it instead of buying a stealth box. you obviously know way more than i do and wanted your opinion on what my best course of action would be. i don't know much but i did put in my speakers, amp, head unit and re wired everything pretty well. (my parents only found out about it when i had to switch out a bad rca cable) so i could do it all myself is what i'm getting at.
