oh yeah. i think part of the reason why i went into a construction related degree and career was because of the reno work i helped with as a kid. i enjoyed it for the most part.

yep, had a good couple weeks between snow and fire season. now fire season is here so i gotta start planning trips around the fires and smoke instead of the winter weather warnings

walmart! thats where i found it.

fishing in MT kinda sucks in november. just sayin

that is a FLY not a lure. and its called a purple haze. fished that one fly all weekend and caught/kept 4 brooks and C&R about a dozen cutthroats and a couple tiny brooks

yes! the one with my net and rod in the background was a chonker! i had three smaller ones already chilling in the fridge and i wasn't expecting to get anything else - three 10 inchers is usually plenty for a meal for me. i was just wading back to where i parked and was letting my fly drift in front of me when she struck. so i stopped and cast a few more times over the same spot and she finally hit again. once i saw how big she was i knew i wasnt throwing her back. so now i have one fish left over - will grill it up with a ribeye tomorrow night for a little MT surf and turf

 

thanks Moose Man. still takes multiples of my fishies to make a meal, not like your fishies up there that one can feed a whole family

that shirt has become my designated fishing shirt. it was pretreated with the super bug repellent stuff but thats all worn off by now. Its just a lightweight hoodie and keeps the sun off of me without being super hot. plus i think it almost acts like camoflauge since its sky blue. at least it seems like i can sneak up on the fishies better when i'm wearing it vs anything else.
