"What did you do while I was gone, dad?"

"Um... I was waiting for you to get home."

 

He's in for quite the shock when they both move out.

My kid opening his dorm room door the day we took him to....Philadelphia.

 

When we moved my kid into his dorm the first time I used my campus master key to let myself in while he was parking his car. He didn't even have his key yet.

 

Boats all fixed up and shifting the right direction now. Smoking cleared up with some run time.

Now comes the hard part... the wife and I had a long talk this weekend and decided it's time for me to change my schedule at work. Going for the 4 day work week. I'm sure management won't be thrilled, but they never are haha

 

I worked 4 ten hour days for years...

It sounded good on the surface.

My "normal" day started at about 5:15 am, if everything was working perfectly (yeah, right) I was leaving about 5:15 pm.

Usually it was closer to 6, 7, or 8 -- whenever I was done, so my normal started out at 48 hours minimum.

Production would often work 1/2 day Friday, so that would add 6 or 8 hours.


Besides beating myself into the ground the problem was getting any kind of business done after 2:30 on a Friday afternoon.

 

Hopefully it's the right move for me. I know what were doing now isn't. One of those.. time will tell things I suppose

 

Well fellers, sometimes you have to spend some money to improve.

I opted for an AC adapter, it runs on batteries too and a case to keep it nice.



And just a little progress.

 

The production people seemed ok with it for the most part -- "production worker" and "happy" usually aren't ever used in the same sentence.

Of course they worked regular hours too -- me not so much...

I had one at work and labeled all kinds of stuff.
This is the first time ever I have devoted time to real organization in my personal life...
