Maybe its just the angle, but is it supposed to be inferno? The canopy looks like an entirely different color from solar octane (more like inferno).

I believe it’s the angle I took the picture and the rhino lining two tone playing tricks on the eye. However, I have noticed that the solar octane in different strengths of sun light has deeper orange in it than the ARE color match. The color the topper came with has the same gold flake but a lighter orange hue rather than that deeper orange in the oem paint. I was told this was the closest color match. IMO it’s hardly noticeable in person and I’m happy with it. Plus the rhino lining helps break it up… if it were the solid color topper without rhino lining it may be more noticeable.

Read that link...the OP of it has been updating it. Just posted an update today saying he needs a new tranny. I think this may be the 2nd or 3rd AT that I have seen go bad.

Has anybody noticed like a thump/clunk when coming to a stop? Seems to happen going from like 10 MPH to 0 MPH. I know people are saying these engines and transmissions are noisy. Seems like it’s the truck downshifting but just wondering what you guys think. My 01 did something similar but this clunk is a little bit more noticeable.

I’m thinking it’s normal behavior I just haven’t noticed it before. Seems to happen when I come to a quick stop too. If I brake very gently and coast to the stop signs it seems to not happen. On the upside I passed 500 miles today and I love it. The engine noises are something to get used to though

I’m disappointed we can’t hear more of the turbo. Hoping that the aftermarket world addresses that.

The only reason I noticed was because I had my music really low. I’m sure if I had my music at normal volume I wouldn’t have noticed. It sounds like it’s coming from the rear of the truck. If it ever cools down I’ll drive around with the windows down and see if I can pinpoint where it’s coming from

It might be worth checking that the spare tire is a little loose. Probably not the problem but I did have one clunk around before I tightened it up on an old truck.

He likes to throw shade on the 3rd gen, I get it they aren’t perfect but neither are the new trucks. My 19, 20 and 22 transmissions were seamless, maybe on struggle bus with power but no clunks or hard shifts ever.

I know. It’s a stupid tactic. It serves no purpose.

My guess is they haven't fixed any of the issues that have been known since your 01. Every gen I've experienced has had some degree of what I could only explain as "feels like axle wrap." I think u-joints/driveline, and now lack of grease ability are probably to blame in many cases.
