Absolutely! It drove home! All thanks to you! Honestly, I could care less about tagging those trees. It adds hard proof to the tale

I was just worried about getting stuck by the drainage pipe on the way out and having to start the recovery process all over again. It didn't hit me how torn up it was until you started having problems too. Can't thank you enough for all the help. Whatever you need you let me know.

    Thank you!

I jarred it pretty good my first time going through there last year so it's definitely needed. I'm set on the Backwoods swing out though ($$$).

The parts where the cap clips in are still intact. I'll just buy a blacked out aftermarket cap. I wanted to get the chrome off anyways. Not the smartest way to do it, but now she won't give me a hard time about it.

After this snafu a lift is definitely a priority. Skids did their job but are also what hung me up on the way down.

A lift won't actually gain you any clearance.

The only way to gain ground clearance is bigger tires. And the only way to fit bigger tires... :sawzall:

    :D

What you really need is more lights to scare the obstacles away.

While it's true that the rear diff will still be at the same height, you improve your approach and departure angles, as well as your break-over, all of which will help you get stuck deeper into the shit! :D

I was so concerned with getting you out before we lost our light, I wish I had thought to get some pictures all around where you got stuck to show the amount of mud and water there was. Once you got around that last rock, I knew you'd be fine. If not, it would have been soooooooo much easier getting you out than where you were.

Don't worry about payback...pay it forward. I sure did wind up having an interesting evening! Thanks for that!

My dad once explained why he'd never have a 4wd truck: if I'm going to get stuck, I want to be closer to the road.
The problem with that thinking is that maybe you'd get yourself closer to the next road.

I'll not be attending Tigerton Aug 8-11. We'll be taking the grand daughters to Tenn. instead. May see if her uncle will take us to Windrock.

Not going to like the 1st half of you post.
I was looking forward to hearing Colorado stories.
2nd half of post I like.
It's always good to spend time with grandkids.

Sad to hear that we'll miss you at Tigerton, Dave. I'm still 50/50 on making it there. If I make it I had planned to squat on someone's site, but if yours is available I may be looking to purchase it from you.

I've been there twice, but the place is huge. There are many trails I haven't done.

I'll hang on to the reservations until Aug. 1st. Lemme know before then.
