Aftermath of newbie run. LF wheel bearing started to make noise. Took it apart filled mud. Ordered new bearing o-ring and both seals. Dealer ordered wrong seals. No dealer in the gta stocks these seals. Wtf.

That was the reason exactly. I sanded down the edge nice and smooth and it slid in easier than the first time.

The seal on the back of the knuckle? Most people buy aftermarket. Timken, SKF, National, whatever. The seal on the outer CV joint is dealer-only unfortunately.

Yep, $50 each when I bought them in 2021 for the RCV axles.

To put that in perspective, the cheapest chineseium CV axle for our trucks costs $52 and includes that seal

And ironically after giving advice to a few people on doing the passenger side axle seal and how much it sucks I find this while doing another fun job.

If it flies, floats or fucks, it's cheaper to rent it.

Did anyone need a passenger side diff seal? Whether I order 1 or 4 they are the same price from Rockauto. Skf seals for $5.05.
