How do these compare to the bfg mt’s? I run 255’s and see they offer that size

I just got these in 255/85 r16, stock suspension, oem off-road wheels. Had a little rubbing on driver side, took of mud flaps, heat gun took care of the liner, have to trim a little still from the fender flare as it rubs just a slight when turning left and under slight compression.

Just had time to put them back on the truck tonight. Will test drive and take more pictures in a few days. 255/85R16 as I like the tall skinny 33s. They are replacing half worn Dick Cepek Extreme Country in the same size. SCS F5 wheels 16x8, 0 offset.

I liked them so much I decided I need a new set. Went up a tire size as well. 285 75 17.

A few more pictures, 255/85R16. Not that loud on the highway and seem to handle well so far. They visually seem a little narrower than the Dick Cepek Extreme Country they are replacing in the same size.

Thank you. It gets me anywhere I need to go for remote camping and off-roading. Not bad for a “mostly stock” Taco :p:D

Pulled the trigger on some 255/85r16 Yoko Geolandars on Method MR701s. I preemptively did my pinch welds and some liner molding, though I'm not even sure it was necessary. Immediately did about 12 hours down to CA to meet up with my brother/buddies for an off-roading/camping trip and didn't mind the road noise at all (the wind noise coming off my roofrack is louder still and doesn't really bother me either). Had lots of flexing opportunities during the trip and zero rubbing. I'm pretty pleased!

On my 3rd year with these 255/85r16 Geolandars. Most excellent off-road, especially in wet conditions. Road noise started to increase after 10,000 miles however I don't mind. These tires just look so aggressive and perform so well its worth the road noise IMO.

How often are you rotating them? Mine have ~35K miles and aren't bad. But, I can't really remember what they were like new.

I checked the tread on the Yokohamas last month when I swapped from my AT's back to the Yokohamas. They were at 13/32 all around, except for the one that started out as the spare. I think that one was around 16/32. 65% tread left after approximately 34K miles (possibly more) is pretty damn good in my book, especially for an MT.

I will admit that only a small percentage of the miles are off-road. Any trails we have in Wisconsin are 3 hours from home, so they get a lot of highway mileage.

I usually rotate them every 5K miles, in a Z pattern. I do this because it changes the direction of rotation on every tire. I know it's unusual, but it seems to be working well for me.

Thanks! 295/70/17. I figured that was as big as I could get away with without opening a can of worms. :D

Between 3,000 - 5,000 miles. I do have a few large chunks missing on the outer lugs from wheeling on lava rock trails in central Oregon, that may have contributed to increase road noise. Only noticeable above 50mph on the hwy.
