Breather mod is easy took me maybe 10 minutes to do the rear and another 10 for the front ( fronts if you have a lift kit and its not up high enough).....only thing was the new breathers were like 7 bucks a pop used 3 for mine, and was another 20.00 for the 12 ft of 3/8 fuel line hose, and another 7.00 for the camary union for the rear diff, also may need some brass plumbing fittings for connecting the extra tubing to the old or the different size tubings together, can get from lowes or home depot for cheap like 2 bucks a fitting( make sure you use teflon tape for threaded fittings though)...so all in all about 40-50 bucks what I spent on mine. Just make sure to call the dealership ahead of time for parts to be ordered if they dont have, parts # are 90404-51026 camary union and 90930-03136 breather union.....the 3rd breather I bought for the small breather tube that was ran along side my front diff breather tube so not sure where its goes didnt fallow it back, but went ahead and raised it too since it was covered in mud also.

Almost forgot.........Got my damn truck back finally :) and the 488's are freakin sweet! RPMs are about 100-200 lower than what they used to be at the different speeds, but the pick up at low end is awesome. forgot to take pictures of the truck as is now, but should see my old ring gear and carrier case picture below if it works.

oh your sliders are the weld on ones? Ya im currently talking to 4wp on sliders cause the nfab bars they gave me do not line up ight on the drivers side so had to build spacers which have now turned out to sag on me...so 4wp said they will talk to nfab about trying to get me a refund on them and get me some sliders instead :D, want the all pro bolt on ones..... Ya on the diff relocation not sure if its the same for the 1st and 2nd gens, my rear diff breather is relocated into my gas cap housing, but the front was like right on my frame next to my headers where every bit of mud and water can just fling up on them so I extended them up to the firewall between the fender and master cylinder. looks good if I dont post a pic before the meet then ill show yall it out there.

4x4 :D honestly though i dont know whats different on the 5 luggers, i would think the diff breather so you dont get any water in your diff

Yea the sliders are the weld ons, i just feel more comfortable with welded ones than bolt on's. I was gonna go with one of the vendors on here for some sliders but i met this guy in Austin that runs a fab-shop called Krawltex and they do some awesome work. I figured i would get him to hook me up. So we will see how it turns out.
im sure we will be doing alot of gandering at the trucks out there haha

nothing just bring some rain boots for if you get stuck in the mud :), we can pull anyone out if they get stuck, as long as you werent being too stupid and driving a 2wd through something a 4wd could barely do then you will be fine cause doing that might make it difficult to get you out, but not impossible. I would say if your going run it stock 2wd just do the breather relocation at least just incase we go through some water, maybe get a tow strap ive got one, but not sure it will last much longer. always good to have a spare tire and Dont forget to top off your washer fluid too. other than that your going to be on the easy trails so shouldnt have any problems.

ya I need to go talk to one about doing an internal or exo roll cage see what they quote me, would do weld ons but like if I ever F them up then I can just unbolt it and get them fixed and repainted then thrown back on.
Ya I want to take a gander at yours, had the option to get a new tacoma or mine, but picked mine. just like the smaller more compactness of 1st gens, also upgrades are always cheaper for the 1st gens and more available. which I knew I was going to be doing lots of mods so would be the cheaper of the too in the end. so Im happy with my pick, think my truck turned out pretty good :).

I agree you truck turned out good, i love first gens. When i bought mine i was on the fence between an 04 reg 4x4, but they wanted alot for it and I really liked the new body style of the second gens. I didnt even plan on modding my truck that much.. when i first bought it i did a toytec spacer, K&N, flowmaster 10 series and a grill guard within the first year. I left it like that till 2009

I bet your loving those gears! If i sell the tundra im probably going to re-gear, i think it would really finish her off good, might even take out my lunchbox and put an ARB front and rear locker in. But im about to come home for good and my nice paying job will come to an end, so i should probably save as much as i can .

lol ya I hear you on that one, currently going back to school for mechanical engineering but also working a full time job so got awhile before im making some good cash.

I lifter and did tires, rim, and bumpers 6 months after I bought the truck lol saved no time in doing that. the other mods were from this year, took a good 2 year no mod break when I first met my girl, but getting back into it and shes not to happy but loves my truck so deals with it :D....Ya they asked 21k for my truck with 51k miles on it, they sure did hold their value well, curious if I sold it now what it would be worth, not ever going to sell it, but would always want to know how much my investment is worth, that word being said is why I want the exo roll cage to you know, protect my investment from the crazy texan drivers.

Ya I love these gears, funny at first when I got it was driving around and it was really sluggish, was like what the hell why is it so slow......The A/C was on.....turned it off and man you could feel the get up and go it was awesome drives like it did when it was stock, also the new rims took away my tire rub so it drives so smooth now. have to get used to the your going 5 mph slower than your speedo used to be 5 mph faster before the gears, but cruising at 75 is only like 2300 RPM when it used to be like 2500 for me. So hoping to see a good jump in gas mileage too, but would recommend to anyone who has oversize tires to get these gears its worth the money.
