So after reading a post from @oly51 about installing a powered driver’s seat in a pre 2020, I decided to take the plunge as well. Bought a powered seat out of a wrecked 2023 for $140 and got it switched over. I used my 2017 manual seat for the airbag, cushions and seat covers. Much happier with the power seat because I’m 6’3” and it will go lower than the manual seat.

Did you add the 30A fuse and wire to juice the system OEM style?

Yup, I looked up the wiring diagram that you colorized. Thanks for all the info you provide.

Yup, it’s not a terribly hard job but it does take some basic skills to pull it off like wiring in the fused power. I found the wrecked seat off Craigslist for $100 and a replacement drive motor at a local wrecking yard for $40. In hindsight I should have taken pictures of the process but was just trying to get the job done.

I suggest Rough Country ($200, I think) or Clazzio seat covers, given the source of the seat. Otherwise ... congratulations.

Two big problems to overcome, the control switches and the air bag would be on the wrong side. I think that there’s enough cable to move the controls but the plastic covers wouldn’t fit. Also, I have no idea if you could move the air bag to the other side. For $100 to $150 someone might want to give it a try.
Edit, I looked at my manual seat frame and it has the same hole pattern on both sides of the seat frame, so I guess that the air bag could be moved to the opposite side.
