    Good Morning

    Temps in the 70s today.

Our coffee maker crapped out this morning. It decided to have a mind of it's own.

Everytime the water starts going down another storm comes through. I may never get the riding lawn mower out to cut my trails this year.

    MORON REPORT

So this pass week Carol and I decided to enter a fun bowl at our bowling alley.
    Weird team games like,
    Opposite hand
    Two handed
One teammate rolls one ball per box.

Knocking down an exact number of pins.
    You get the idea.
So there were a lot of people we have never met.
Teams were picked by random chip draw.
So the teams were me, Carol, (the odds on that) and a real nice, patient guy (advanced average) named Steve.

So I brought my “fireball ball set”.
Steve brought a “fireball ball set”. His had a stripe around his so no problem so far.
A “Moron” was on the lane next to us using the same ball return WITH A “FIREBALL SET”
He never looked and dumped his 4 balls on the return. :annoyed:.
Are you kidding me. I was there first and now we have 8 balls that look the same.
I said dude didn’t you see there is another set of balls like yours?
He goes Oh, we will figure it out later… :brianr::brianr::brianr:
    WTF…
    So now I’m pissed.
But we start bowling and i can’t concentrate I’m so fuckin mad.
    Then I had a brainstorm.
I always have a scale in the car to weight balls if people want there weight known.
I KNOW EXACTLY WHAT MY BALLS WEIGH.
After the first round I went outside and grabbed my scale.
I pulled all the balls and weighed them.
I immediately knew which ones were mine.
    AND HE QUESTIONED ME.
I said all my balls weigh this certain weight. These other 4 balls weigh slightly more than mine.
So the heavier ones are YOURS !!!
    OH :smack::smack:
I told him you really need to pay more attention doing stuff with new bowlers. Someone else may not be so nice as I was as I had the solution.
And your attitude about it all made the situation worse like it was no big deal..
So I put my balls in my bag and used Carol’s.

    The solution.
I had to find a solution to make sure this never happened again .
I think I came up with a ingenious one.
Since I do ball repair I “repaired my balls” lol…
I did not want to engrave anything in them as if you sell them later they will go faster.
So I inserted a special mark.
Here is how I did it.

First thing I did was find a common area on each ball.
Each one has a specific swirl in one area.
    IMG_8088.jpg
So I got my drill out and drilled a 1/16” deep hole.

    IMG_8093.jpg

Then I used a micro rotary bit to elongate the bottom of the hole to help set my repair.
I then mixed up some epoxy and tinted it with resin dye and filled the hole.

    IMG_8099.jpg

Then I scraped the area and refinished and polished the ball.

    IMG_8100.jpg

Now i have a unique mark on my balls that no one would notice.
Before this I had never seen another set like mine

We have a new mantra, moving from "Get off my lawn!" to "Get your hands off my balls!"

When I was bowling (40+ years ago) I had one ball in my bag, along with the contents of a mobile bar. BTW, You have cool looking balls.
