This is my first post on these forums but I just needed some confirmation on some upgrades.

    2023 SR5 Taco

I bought Baja Designs Ditch lights, Bilstein 5100, and a set of 18inch wheels with firestone destination at2 tires

Tires and wheels clear at stock did all my research TireRack, however i want a 2inch lift all around on it from where it is nowstock.

I know 5100 are 2inch front, 1 back so Ibought a 1inch rear block. Just want toconfirm that doing the 2inch front with the 2inch total lift in back is both okay for the truck (as in using the block) and if this will give me the all around 2inch lift I want. Everything else as far as springs etc rstock. Thanks for any advice or input. Also if anyone knows estimates for how much the average shop would cost to install Baja lights and wiring pls leave quotes or estimates. I have a guy who's normally very fair and well priced but i've also never had to have him do any additional work as far as mods usually only repairs etc.

The shocks alone do not give any lift in the rear. Lift comes from springs. And it's up to 2" in the front, not a guaranteed full 2" (depends on which model you have).

There is usually a 1" front/rear difference in height from stock (rake), so if you are shooting for a level stance you need to lift the front 1" more than the rear. The 1" block you mention will get you level, but you won't have the factory rake anymore. So effectively a 2" front, 1" rear lift. To get 2" in the rear you should be looking at a new leaf pack, though it can be accomplished with an AAL plus a block.

The Bilstein website says the rear shocks are a 1inch lift from stock.

1" lift or 1" longer to accommodate a lift from a block or more spring?

Because shocks don't lift. The dampen spring ocillation

how bilstein work is they come with an adjustable piece u can set at higher lift, the rear is pre set at 1inch, from stock. That's why i bought the 5100s specifically

That's not how the rear shocks work. That adjustable piece you are talking about is the coil spring perch on the front shocks. The coil goes over the shock, otherwise known as a coilover shock, as opposed to having a separate spring elsewhere. So if you raise the point where the spring sits, the truck also is raised.

The rear is the just the shock, no spring perch because the rear uses leaf springs, not coil springs that go over the shock. The only way to lift the rear (and this goes for all shocks from every brand) is from the leaf springs.

gotcha, so for the front then is the stock coils okay? and the rear Id then need a leaf spring in order to raise the truck, i already have a 1inch block would i then need a 1inch leaf?

To clarify, current plan is to use factory coil spring for front (bilstein says this is fine, just can't do full height i think this maxes at 2inches) and then gonna j use the 1inch block in the rear instead of replacing the springs. This should level the truck out since it's an sr5. Hopefully that checks out with you

Yeah that sounds like it should work fine. That will level it out nicely as long as you don't carry any extra weight in the box.

if you lift the rear more than an inch, make sure you shim the axle too. Your U-joints will thank you.

awesome thanks for the help, never really load the truck with much and if i do always on the bed if its heavy. And for the other dude yeah just a 1inch block for the rear to go with the springs so hopefully shouldn't have to worry about anything with the axle. Thanks for the help, probably gonna do the work with my friend next week and also throw in the new wheels and tires i got from tire rack. I'll send a photo of everything once it's on.
