    Noticed this last week.

not sure, kind of sounds like our typical quirky noisy lil engine with a slight exhaust leak to me, but it's hard tellin' from video/audio.

That is pretty loud. I’ve listen to this engine since 2007, it was in our 07 ES350 and now in our 18 RX350. It has a similar sound but never that loud. Kinda also sounds like an exhaust leak.

I suggest you open the hood, not look through the wheel well.

If it’s not an exhaust leak then it could be a lifter. I’ve never heard mine in the injector clean cycle could it be that? Everyone says when it’s in the clean cycle the engine has a pretty loud tick.

Your 07 engine is not the same as our engine.

That sounds awful. What’s the maintenance history on the motor?
Just noticed ever 3K. How long has it been that loud?

Mine has the normal injector tick and high pressure fuel pump but nothing like that. If I can expect my engine to sound like that at 76k I’m trading it

    Last week it showed up.
I know what the (cleaning cycle) on these sounds like. This is not it.
Are the lifters in these hydraulic or solid?

Don’t know what to say but mine has done that exact same noise since I bought it at 4K. Things are fine and nothing has changed at all, and I take it beyond redline every day.

It’s hard to say without actually hearing it in person but my guess is an exhaust leak.

If you listen closely you can hear it sound a tad quieter every few seconds.

    Sorry, couldn’t resist.

TBQH, these weird noise threads rarely end in any resolution unless the OP figures it out themselves or brings it to a capable mechanic.

My personal guess is that your engine is fine or at least not going to explode anytime soon. If it makes you feel better, I had a 90’s ford ranger that was making 10 times that much camshaft-like noise. I drove it 40 miles like that, brought to my uncle, his diagnosis was that the top was starved of oil, and the truck ran fine for years after that.

Not identical but both are in the 2GR family, 2GRFE vs 2GRFKS, and having heard both (the FKS is in our RX350), they sound similar, at least to me.
