What's the best cold air intake for 2nd gen Tacoma? Been debating which one to get to give it a little bark and help with lag.

on the 3rd gen? The OE setup. I would assume the same for the 2nd, but you might run it past em.

You'd be better off sticking with the OE setup.
I'd look at a tune if you really want to get your the best value for your money.

Not with it unless you are tuned, with an exhaust or anything aftermarket related done so the engine

And a tune is about the same cost as a Cold Air Intake and will do so much more for power.

I know this is an old thread, but I couldn't resist. It's not like an aftermarket cold air intake can provide colder air than the stock one unless it has an ice box you fill up each day.

I put an Injen on mine a while ago, with a TRD exhaust (no tune as of yet).

Feels more responsive, definitely sounds great.

This one takes air from the stock location, as well as from the grill.

I got them installed at the same time - so I don’t know what it’s like without the tune. I can say this though, it was a night and day difference from when I left the shop.
