Good morning! Cant wait to be a porch pal...<sigh>:). Prepping for meetings tomorrow on a day trip to Atlanta to look at salad bagging machinery. It will be a long day, but at least no hotel stays this week.
I stopped at the dealer yesterday for oil change and saw this one...Looks so cool! (at least to me) My wife liked it as well...but she LOVES her 10 year old Volvo XC90. I think the sticker is $73K on this one. Cool color. Very 60s.

A little something every chance we get.
:rant:Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Or, morning anyway. Feeling like the old curmudgeon I probably am. Yesterday was about two whacks short of a good smacking. Saw the regular doc to follow up on my "kidney measures" issue she was worried about. And, to see what she would say about my nick, hip/legs...
    • They don't have any of my messages to them for lab requests, what heart doc did, lab results from his change, or my new complaints. They had me sign up for their message portal, but never "enabled" me. So, they saw nothing.
    • Updated her about kidney measures, but without labs.....I see heart doc next Wed, and will have two lab sets by them.
    • Told her about trying to fix my neck, hip/leg issues with the sports med doc, maybe she can Rx that? No, never evaluated for that, so where do we start - neck. Let's get X-Rays. They suck. Lots of bone spurs, maybe some fused, radiologist will have to see. Don't let sports doc move my neck around anymore... legs, yes, but no Rx.
    • I got a steroid shot to assist my quality of life.
    • While I'm sitting there, my right hearing aid just quits.... put it in the charger for an hour when I got home, nope. Down to New Braunfels to get it fixed.
    • Monday, I needed to fill up truck while I was out. Phone app at the station would authorize the pump, but would never let me select a gas. Gave up, used the card, same thing. Must be the station. Yesterday, while charging the hearing aid, took the RAV to a different station, and filled up with the app. Head to New Braunfels, stop at the same place to fill the truck - App says "you've tried too many purchases", and won't work. Used my card, and gave up 15 cents a gallon in savings.
    • The traffic hassles getting to NB almost had me big city frustrated.
I slept in. Not doing anything but water the pots, clean and fill the hummer food, and salt in the water softener. Suppose I'll make a dinner of some sort.

Wow! Sorry to hear about those issues. I can feel the frustration. I can empathize! Sometimes it's just good to get it out there. Hope you had a better day today! :)

    Not a bad deal.

Daym so much bad Karma. Hope today is better.

Good morning. Happy Thursday to everyone. My cousin's husband is back in the hospital with a UTI. His UTI issues have been off and on for quite a while now. On a positive note, my cousin is looking better than she has in quite a while. She is improving every day.

    Good Morning Tom,

Price seems fair to me. Comes with a set of winter studs too, they're worth @ $1000. Concept is to make my commute comfortable and keep miles off Stitch. Truck is "accessorized" to my needs and desires; I reckon I'm buying a car now, so I don't need to buy a new truck and accessorize after I retire. Makes sense in my MooseMan mush brain. :notsure:

Praying for some good karma your way and your cousin's continued steady improvement.

Oh my! Oldie2007, so sorry to read of all your health issues! It doesn’t seem like they slow you down much…good for you! Tough old bird!
Going to pass this on to everyone on SS from the Kim Komando tech news letter I get.
    Make this a great day!

    TODAY'S TOP STORY
    Surprisingly, it’s not a scam
    [IMG]
My inbox is flooded with folks asking about an email they got from the Social Security Administration. I mentioned it earlier this week, and, nope, it’s not a scam — it’s legit. But this change is big enough that we need to spend more time talking about it.

    Social Security scoop
The new home for all things Social Security online is Login.gov. The idea was to make signing in easier, but they also needed to comply with federal authentication standards.

Even if you don't collect welfare checks or SSA retirement benefits, it's worth updating your account. This way, it’s easy to order a replacement Social Security card, estimate your future retirement benefits, and say what benefits you want and when.

If you already have a Login.gov or ID.me account, you're good to go.

If you registered for a my Social Security online account before Sept. 18, 2021, do this:

    • Go to SSA.gov and sign in with your existing credentials. You'll be prompted to change over to Login.gov.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to create a Login.gov account. At the end, you'll receive a confirmation screen.
    • Log in and access your account. That’s it!
    Keep it extra secure
The new process requires a password and two-factor authentication. Yes! The government recommends biometrics like face or touch unlock or an authenticator app.

An authenticator app generates six-digit codes every 30 seconds or so, replacing texts that send you a one-time login. There are lots of options, but I use Google Authenticator (Android and iOS).

Here's how to make an authenticator app work with Login.gov:

    • Download and install an authenticator app on your phone.
    • Open your computer’s browser and sign into your Login.gov account at https://secure.login.gov.
    • Select Enable next to Authentication app. Follow the instructions to scan or enter a code to link your authentication app to your account.
Just follow the steps on your screen, and you’ll be sitting pretty.
