So basically someone paid a helluva lot of money just for the land since everything is going away.

 

I had deer liver at fishing camp a few years back. Tasted like eating a fried fart. Thats a no for me dog.

 

Alright, for one you owe me a new monitor as coffee went all over it.

Second, I'm trying not to judge, but if you know how that actually taste....

Yes they did. I can't wrap my head around it but I'm thankful we don't have to deal with it anymore

 

Was that whole property commercial or non-zoned? Might be a whole new store going there.

 

It was zoned residential but they had it changed to CZ-LB (Conditional Zoning-Limited Business).

The state made us have testing done around the tanks, 12 holes 10' deep with a company on site to test the soil for contamination. Everything came back fine and the state reimbursed us a certain percentage since they made us do the testing.

Fast forward after we sold it we found out if the tanks are unused for 90 days they have to be retested and when they are dug up EPA has to be on site and also a mobile lab to test the soil.

It's been almost a year since the tanks have been used and the pumps are worn out as well. Whatever they're doing, they have deep pockets.

 

PA has some strange requirements. Have to have a secondary containment on each UST. At one time lots of stations were tearing up and replacing a whole lotta tanks.

They did an abandonment in place for an old tank at my house. Was an interesting surprise to find one day

 

There's a guy in a really tiny town about 6 miles from me that replaces tanks, apparently he's the only business in the area that does that. He's worth millions now.
