Buy an old one in a couple years and register it at my place, lifetime reggo for classics. 30yrs, hell then you legally only need a rear plate and can use vintage ones.

Well there's the misfire issue. It also need a new rack and LCAs, UBJs, pinion seal, front diff axle seal. I also think the master cylinder is leaking fluid into the brake booster, and it leaks/burns a bit of oil, mostly after 3k miles since a change. The good news is that it's a rust free Texas truck with some solid bones.

I guess you could always order the YotaShop engine. I kinda like my idea of looking for a rusty NYS truck though.

Yup, Land Cruiser won't need registration again as long as I live in WA (wouldn't leave anyway).

They're good folks and their rebuilds are regarded well, if you call they have many options for increasing longevity or performance and they know all the common weak points of these engines and take measures to stop them from being an issue. I've never tried a Yota1 engine before so I cannot comment on their rebuilds.

Mine still has two years, but then it is getting classic plates and lifetime reggo too. I only commute in the bimmer anyways no reason to have all these others registered as full time use vehicles.

When I was looking at Sunwest as an option for my cracked head, they were completely out of cores and wouldn't start work on your rebuild until you sent them yours. Was going to be a 6 month+ leadtime..

Hmm I thought I used more tact than that?
It happens. I'm just still giggling at the fact that he missed the point, even with my follow up comment.

Frankly most of the shops between both cylinder head shops and full rebuild shops were out of cores.
I think these trucks are just getting old, shit just goes wrong at 25-30 years old Toyota or not.

Can we start a poll for what's wrong with the truck?

I have to wait to hear back from the mechanic. If it is a junk engine - 2500 OBO. Even with the misfire, it was staying nice and cool though, so I'm still holding out hope.

The only other thing is a driveshaft that's too short. The shop said they'd exchange it for me though.
