Was planning to upgrade my 3rd gen trd pro but there is no way now. I saw the vehicle in person and the gas is bad on storage but the hybrid is impossible.

How can the eliminate 95% of the internal storage vs previous models?

The vehicle on the surface is super attractive and has a lot of innovation but this killed it for me.

By adding a battery under the rear seat.

You could get a truck cap and a bedslide there's probably all kinds of aftermarket bed storage products available. You can also delete the rear seats and replace it with some sort of storage.

Could Toyota have done better with interior storage? Sure they could, Toyota also sells the Sienna and close to a dozen utility vehicles.

Do you want storage, or do you want to look cool?

Toyota has a new Crown CUV, I call it 4Runner Lite. Had Toyota discontinued the 4R, the Crown CUV would have been it's replacement. It's not bad looking. I guess it's got the 2.4t 4cyl under the hood.

What are you talking about? The Crown SUV is literally the least 4Runner-like in the entire Toyota/Lexus lineup of SUVs.

Plenty of room in the 4th gen, where’s the lack of space you speak of opposed to the 3rd gen?

I've got bikes in the back so limited room.

The storage in the previous model was ample and was located we behind the rear backrest (entirely) and under the rear seats (entirely).

Likewise, had two bed based storage compartments.

I'm the trail hunter I could add a 1' storage compartment near the rear window, as it can be ordered with the 6' bed. Is there something sealed, secure and lockable people could suggest. Still sucks, .

Never owned a 3rd gen but the 4th gen glove box is huge! More storage pockets in the doors than anything I’ve seen, and a considerable amount under the rear seats.

260 rds with room to spare! Shit…there’s more storage than my 2013 DC Tundra had!

    Nice.

Who needs a Owner's manual, when you've got 260 rounds instead?

Those squirrels won't stand a chance! Where do you put your kleenex?

2nd gen DCLB storage behind and under rear seat sucked ass too. The possible space available to the sheetmetal is wasted buy huge amounts of plastic molding in useless configurations that waste as much storage potential as possible.

If it does, there's room for another 100 rounds.

Not at all. Been on a lot of gravel wash board roads, two tracks, and wheat fields, Not a rattle anywhere.
