Since they are changing the plans, they need to re-submit everything to the goberment - both county and state..
A few phone calls/concerned emails might screw them over
Maybe the massive bureaucracy will make it not worth it to them

Yea ,these would be on individual steel poles . They move to follow the sun so midday they would be pointed directly at our houses . The section across from our houses is around 75 acres give or take . Closest panels would be about 150 yards away . They are willing to pay individual homeowners right here a one time payment of $10k and pay for extra screening plantings across the road . No matter what they offer we all are against this bullshit . It’s the wrong county ,wrong town . And yes the energy will most likely be used by NYC .

Think far, think deep in your decision; to some, that $10k might sounds a lot at the moment, yet, who can guarantee that can take care the issues down the road.

 

I tried to stop the last bit of my hood being developed - I actually half succeeded but not in the way I intended..
I pointed out that some of the 'new' homes driveways would need to cross a protected waterway - was told to fuck off
I also pointed out that the soil on those and several more lots would not perc - was also told to fuck off, in the most insulting of ways at a county meeting.

And if the soil doesn't perc, you can't put shit on it ... cause no septic.

And your goal is to make sure they keep 'working on it' for the next 10 years..
Find some endangered species that lives on that property; I'm completely serious, you look hard enough and you are likely to find one!!

Jam them up with paperwork/processes

If they redux the size, they redux the output and at some point it cannot be worth the tax deductions they were given nor the input it would provide..
There has to be a minimum something specified in their agreements - and I bet they are in violation of some of their agreements if you dig thru their contracts with the goberment/power companies..


We got a couple of those up near Chapel Hill [aka commie hill aka the liberal bastion of this area] - in their county..
They are ugly AF and truly seem like a waste of land but at least here we get decent sunshine - unlike your rainy/snowy stuff that also has to limit what they can capture [aka generate] on that plot..

That’s what we have been doing . The town has been involved since the beginning obviously. NYS Solar siting denied the application 3 times ( without Prejudice) . 60 acres got bought out from under the solar company so now they are redesigning and should have to do more environmental studies. Plenty of letters sent to the siting office and the governors office . Also to assembly people . Nobody wants it except the state so they keep letting them reapply. It’s a bunch of bull shit that’s just gonna make money for somebody else that doesn’t have to look at them .

 

10K ain’t enough . Fuck that . They need to just go away .
