I went the standard kit. They're plenty bright maybe a little too bright. The other versions are way overkill.

I just installed them a couple of weeks ago, they come with the resistors, so I threw them in just so I didn't have to put them in after the fact if they needed it. I'll tell you, it's worth the $180, noone will notice anything different about how they work, but it's just how they should have worked from the factory. I bought the least bright kit, and they are very bright, I don't worry so much about people rearending me.

Agreed they should’ve come working like this, but I also wish more people, especially other Tacoma owners, noticed them lol

Lol, yeah, for a $180 unfortunately the only other people who will notice and think it’s cool are people who also have done it to their trucks and happen to be behind you.

    Love the profile pic, btw.

I just installed the standard vled tails along with the oem pro tail lights. Very impressed with the vled kit, highly recommend this product. They are 25% off now foe July 4 and they shipped it fast.

Anyone else notice condensation when it's humid after switching over to all LED bulbs? I'm thinking they just don't make enough to heat to dissipate moisture like the halogen bulbs do...

Never had a problem with moisture on the inside of the OEM tail lights when I ran the MESO Total Tail Stage 1 kit nor when I changed over to the VLED switchback bulb. The VLED switchback was a very snug fit with the foam gasket they provided.

Looking at getting there license plate reverse light that’s 2500 lm.
Would adding the reverse lights be a benefit as well and at what point would be overkill.
    They have the 400,850 and 1500lm v6.
I don’t want to buy something that’s overkill.

I have the vleds extreme light kit, the license plate kit, and hitch pod kit. When it's dark out and you're reversing, there is no such thing as overkill. I love that the back of the truck is just as illuminated as the front.

I also see morimoto has a license plate with just a little less output but a five year warranty.
    Are they better quality?

I've read on this forum I think, and may he wrong. But the vleds guys are like a group of friends that have a company and take great pride in their work. I love the plate light and have had numerous people ask me about it.

Does anyone recommend a good spot to mount the resistors so it’s out of the way of wires ?

With the tail lamps removed and looking straight back, I mounted mine about in the middle, below the RED arrow, but anywhere it is out of the way is fine...

I just stuck mine to the inside of the metal housing like shown above. I did have to move them a little when I installed bed stiffeners, but there's plenty of room. Double sided 3m tape works well.
