61 degrees this morning and the high will be 75, absolutely perfect. It will warm into the 80s again for the weekend but man I'm enjoying this day!

Well once again it is proven that the government can simplify a wet dream until it's too complicated to be done without an instructional manual.

:rain:Good Morning Porch Pals & Sue! Was going to try to mow this morning before predicted rain comes. Trying to squeeze in before what is supposed to be a randomly wet weekend. Not going to make it! Half hour out.

LOL! We'll take all we can get, and Houston gets it all! Only a disappointment in timing. Because at 9:15 am, I set my coffee down, and just listened to it rain on the metal sunroom roof. Until 11:30. The best part of waking up!

Just had a thunderstorm blow through. Lots of high winds. Stood outside and watched the trees blow around. Then the sky opened up - but no metal roof to listen to the rain under.

Hung up a feeder with rotten bananas to help breed fruit flies/gnats for the hummingbirds to eat. Don't know if it'll work, but I'll give it a shot for awhile to see.

I recently saw a hummingbird behavior I wasn't familiar with ........ watering my pepper plants early in the AM (already 90º at 5:30) and looked back to see my little resident taking a bath by rolling into the wet leaves. Just kept moving along to a new spot where more drops were clinging to the leaves. I've seen them follow along and sip water droplets off the leaves - but no baths.

I just saw an article this summer that they like to take baths so maybe put out a shallow dish with some pebbles and see what happens. I have only seen one hummer this year and he hits the feeder and takes off :notsure:

The Hummingbirds are scarce this year but we have had as many as eight now, at one time. A Rufus has shown up, and maybe two of them recently. That's pretty interesting bath behavior. I'd like to see it.
