It's less Tacoma and more mod
None did, the name Dyna comes from the Toyota Dyna that had this gear in Japan. That vehicle also has an R series trans that this gear fits.

I’m just going off of memory again, but I don’t recall there being differences in the R150 family that found their way into first gen Tacomas that would account for what you’re experiencing. Some of the most notable differences giving rise to the couple variants of the R150F are that pre-Taco R150F had the transfer case output and front diff on the opposite side of the tranny as well as different input and output shaft spline counts. Aside from differences in gearing over time which make a difference but aren’t so dramatic all-in-all, that constitutes the variants.

it is an absolute mystery here Where the 50 to 60 miles per full tank during the late winter disappeared to immediately after getting a rebuilt R150F from a 2oo2 put into my truck
many thousand miles later (until the summer blend fuel came out) and there was Very little change under normal historical freeway driving
i use Shell and BP gas most all the time

the Only time I ever recall getting this absolute Piss Pour fuel mileage was after some junk gas at a Murphy's station! and driving into a constant 30+ mph wind for a whole tank once
    something is definitely not kosher!
that loss of mileage is Really going to add up in the long run

any why the RPMs look off a bit is another mystery
but that could be a result of other repairs the truck had lol
it was a Real Sloppy mess when i got it back
