Helped someone in a parking lot with the same problem last year. I think it was a late-00s/early-10s Ford Fusion, but at this point who recalls/cares. Polymer linkage bushing disintegrated at the transaxle; was able to reach down and manually shift the selector into gear.

Oh I feel you completely. Drove DP in to fix AC yesterday, only to have the switch pro wiring fault on the way home.
    W.T.F.

I was really looking forward to taking that apart again.

But if you're the best at losing... Doesn't that make you a winner? (Of sorts?

    What's up with the AC?

    Bummer

What's annoying is most AC components are actually really easy to replace, especially in the engine bay. It's the freon recapture and recharge that costs money. Especially because these trucks use yf1234. Can't just grab an r134 recharge kit and send it.

No. Then I'm just the biggest loser, which is still, a loser.

Yup. Other than a small handful of early production Canadian trucks, 3rd gens use YF1234

Not really, the industry switched up to r1234yf from r134a about 2016.

Is it like a cleaner stuff for the environment or something or just more efficient?

Uh.... Yes. It's "environmentally friendly" but also isnt as potent as older refrigerants... Which, to be faiiiiiirrrr.... Are downright toxic.

That being said, if you get a face full of yf1234, hit the eye wash station immediately and absolutely blast yourself with water.

    Ask me how I know
