    What’s that old saying. “If it has tits or tires it’s going to give you problems and cost you money” or something like that haha

    I’ve owned mine for about 4 months now and I haven’t had any major issues so far. Everything has worked as expected and the truck is enjoyable to drive. The only thing that I’ve noticed is when the truck is parked on a down hill grade. It’s a noticeably hard shift into gear. When the truck is pointed uphill, it’s a smooth shift. I’ve seen others mentioned it as well. Just curious how common it is or just an isolated thing.

    No I’m not. Additionally the grade isn’t very steep.

    Here's a comparison of two OR's. One is hybrid, the other is not. Pretty interesting.

    In the "2024 Tacoma iForce MAX REVIEW" YouTube video, the creator discusses the exterior differences between the regular Tacoma and the hybrid version, specifically the TRD off-road premium model. The hybrid Tacoma has added hybrid components, resulting in more horsepower and torque, but it's not designed for better gas mileage due to its quick response time and improved acceleration. The speaker compares the hybrid and non-hybrid versions, noting that the hybrid's electric motor provides instant torque and lack of turbo lag, but it doesn't go fully electric during driving. The hybrid is beneficial for towing heavy loads due to its increased torque, but the additional cost of around $3500 is not worth it for improved gas mileage and fuel savings. Instead, the extra power and fun driving experience are the primary advantages of the hybrid Tacoma.

    • 00:00:00 In this section of the YouTube video titled "2024 Tacoma iForce MAX REVIEW," the creator discusses the exterior differences between the regular Tacoma and the hybrid version, specifically the TRD off-road premium model. The hybrid Tacoma comes with different tires, a chin spoiler, a locking fuel cap, and an aggressive-looking iForce Max badge with red accents instead of the usual blue. Under the hood, the hybrid version has the same 2.4 L turbo 4 cylinder engine as the regular one, but with added hybrid components, resulting in 326 horsepower and 465 ft-lbs of torque. However, the creator notes that the hybrid version is not made for better gas mileage, as it is a Performance Hybrid, and the gas motor responds quickly to the gas pedal. The hybrid version does not have the same gauges as the regular one, lacking an iForce gauge and a hybrid boost gauge.
    • 00:05:00 In this section of the YouTube video titled "2024 Tacoma iForce MAX REVIEW," the speaker compares a hybrid Toyota Tacoma to a non-hybrid version in terms of acceleration and performance. The hybrid model, which comes with bigger tires and a taller bed, has a noticeable performance gain due to its electric motor's instant torque and lack of turbo lag. Although the hybrid might offer slightly better gas mileage, the speaker notes that it doesn't go full electric during driving and has less power overall compared to the non-hybrid version. The hybrid's quicker response time and improved acceleration make it less focused on gas mileage and more geared towards better performance.
    • 00:10:00 In this section of the "2024 Tacoma iForce MAX REVIEW" video, the speaker discusses the hybrid's performance and whether it's worth the investment for improved gas mileage. The Land Cruiser hybrid, which also operates in full electric mode, fails to do so for long periods due to the hot weather. Instead, it functions more like a hybrid assist with an electric motor that provides extra power. The hybrid is beneficial for towing heavy loads due to its increased torque, although it comes with a reduced towing capacity. However, the speaker concludes that the hybrid system's additional cost of around $3500 is not worth it for improved gas mileage and fuel savings. Instead, the extra power and fun driving experience are the primary advantages of the hybrid Tacoma.

    @Lord_Derek

    I didn't realize that someone in here had a Pro.

    What have you been seeing in terms of MPG?

    How's she ride on-road?

    Thanks.

    @Plasmech
    I have not even paid atttention to the fuel mileage. I have been working long hours this week so I have only driven it to work and back home. One trip to get fried chicken. Haha.

    Truck rides great on the road. It has Goodyear street tires on it. Suspension is plush but not spongy. If that makes sense? Very quiet interior. No window leaks or rattles.

    Quick to get to speed. I have to try and feel the stop/start stuff. It’s seamless. You don’t feel it when it turns on and off. Hybrid torque is very impressive. It doesn’t feel like a 4 cylinder. When you gas it. It goes fast.

    However, Coming from driving a 2012 Jeep lifted on 35’s, it is like a whole new world for me. My Jeep was nice. But it’s a piece of crap compared to the 2024 Taco.

    I will be towing my zero turn and also moving some furniture this weekend so I will have a better understanding. I plan to take a drive to the beach or woods Sunday if the weather permits.

    Sounds like a good truck!

    Does it have artificial engine noise, and if so, can it be turned off?

    Have you noticed the larger turning radius?

    Im pretty sure the sound in the cab is artificial. However the exhaust sounds normal outside. Throaty, doesn’t have that drone sound. Not sure about turning it off. It’s not in the normal settings if it ou can.

    turning radius is wide. But again I am coming from a 2 door Jeep that could turn on itself like a hammerhead shark. But I am not struggling to turn it park. It’s just different for me compared to the little jeep.

    I don't know why people need good acceleration or lots of power. There's a mile long hill on the freeway that I go over regularly, very gentle slope, maybe 3-4%. Half of the cars on the road, including Porsches, Land Rovers with V8s, 300 hp luxury sedans, etc., slow down on that hill, won't go the speed limit. I fly past them in my 4-cylinder Gen2, sometimes with 500 lbs in the bed.

    Has anybody put in the tailgate inserts on here? I got my supposed matte black inserts from Toyota and they literally look chrome.

    Have you tried uncaging the ISO seats on-road yet?

    I finally drove both the hybrid and regular motor back to back and I have decided that I will be staying with just the gas motor when it's time to buy. Not much of a difference for me to justify the price increase plus I don't plan on towing much if at all.
    Over all, much nicer than my second gen.

    The hybrid does not make much sense for this truck in the absence of a major MPG gain, IMO.
    I will be curious what real-world MPG is for hybrid vs non-hybrid. Tundra hybrids really struggle to meet published numbers.

    Thanks for sharing.

    I wonder why some people feel that it makes a big difference and others, none at all.

    Is there any Fuelly data available on the Gen 4 Tacos yet? I haven't been able to find any.
