Thanks. The grill is by X-trek. The diode dynamic bars just so happen to fit in the cut out perfect.

The x trek grill is pretty flimsy. I didn’t realize you needed an older style trim piece for the surround. It took a lot, and a long time to get it all to work. I guess I liked enough to be committed to it. Prob the 3rd grill I’ve out in there and the only one that gave me tss issues.

Are you referring to the actual yellow vs the amber that matches oem ambers?

Would you mind linking where you got the driving bar for lights to sit behind the grill at?

I’m in the process of trying to decide which direction I’d like to go on my 2023. Your setup looks really nice so I’d like to look further into it as a possibility.

    thanks very much

Selective yellow is the yellow color that gets mis-marketed by some companies as amber.

Selective yellow is a pretty narrow cut-out of the range of colors that could be considered "yellow." Selective yellow filters out most of the blue wavelengths, leaving primarily red and green wavelengths from an incandescent lightsource. As LEDs produce significantly more blue wavelength light than red and green, filtering to selective yellow from a "white" LED emitter will result in a significant intensity drop in comparison.

However, whatever lightsource, filtering to amber will remove even more green wavelength. Less light, but also not generally enough green wavelength left to easily/effectively discern color shades. For this reason, selective yellow will be a generally more *useful* color in all but the most extreme conditions.

But yeah, marketers aren't doing us any favors conflating amber/yellow/selective yellow filtration lenses for their products.

    So….
    It’s an xtrek grill
    https://www.x-trek.com/products/2018-2023-Toyota-Tacoma-Grille-Insert-p220321310

The diode dynamics are the stage series
    https://www.diodedynamics.com/products/led-off-road-lights/light-bars/stages-series-led-light-bars.html
and to mount them… well that’s not easy. I had a Baja designs 30” bar and pods all lined up on a bracket designed by SDHQ, that was meant to hide behind the pro grill. I messed with it, a lot, I’m pretty sure some cutting happened to get the dd’s in there. I would not suggest that route. But maybe another bracket, possibley custom. Extruded aluminum seems to offer endless adjustment.

Amber/yellow isn’t just better at penetrating and less strain on the eye, they are good for other driver to see you during severe weather condition.

Last winter I went to Yosemite and at midway, there’s a thick white fog for a few miles. I can’t even see the car in front of me or behind me. Cars from the opposite direction, I can’t see because of their white headlight blend in with the white fog. But a few car with amber or yellow light, I can see a big bright glow of amber/yellow from a distance. I can see brake light and emergency light easier then the headlight. It really glows in the thick white fog.

After the trip, I install amber in the front and install rear fog light.

I agree, Stitch's lightbar, fogs, and ditchlights are all yellow/amber.

To me amber fogs are worth it. Had a recent beach trip in outer banks and when the sun goes down driving on the beach I turned the headlights off and only had the fogs on. The led’s only reflected every and I couldn’t see jack.

I would look into diode dynamics ss3 and do sae fogs on the outside then driving then spots. Tie them into seperate switches then you can activate for the situation or pop them all on for full coverage. I'd personally do full baja designs but it's a pricey touch. You just get better beam patterns from the 2 companies.
