    Updated first page.

I get PM's every day so I'm updating and/or adding information to help answer those questions that come through.

Let me go ahead and pay now.

How would I do that, and what's a rough ETA? We just talking weeks, or a year from now?

I'm just one person and wouldn't want to hold anyone's money yet without having final fitment check.

Need my t's crossed and my i's dotted ;)

Especially since I'm again, just one person and not even a vendor.

I'd like to get the first batch mailed by end of the month latest.

That's fair enough of a timeline.

I'd like to go ahead and pay/get on the batch list whenever I could.

I'll shoot you a PM when I'm on your batch for sure.

PM's will go out to do two things -

    1. Confirming exterior bracket type

    2. Providing payment info

This will give anyone up to the last minute to decide what kind of exterior bracket they want, not to mention I will not be making the price any more or less regardless of the bracket type they choose.

I will update the first page with all the bracket types once we are a GO.

I should add, I'm not sure how @MagicToolbox wants to go about the 3D printed inserts.

Personally, I would like for people to commit to buying a set, so he can get a total head count.

Of course it's up to him to decide how he wants to do it but if he sent me a big batch, I can provide them with each set sold.

    Saves everyone on shipping.

Technically, being retired everyday is the weekend

We leave tomorrow morning actually, my wife just calls the weekend Sat/Sun.

I'm on the PC doing some CAD work - one of my customers is actually from Honduras. In fact, I do side work (whether CAD or video meetings) to a few customers on Zoom and Facebook hence why I reply here often and quickly.

I clean up and make his files cut ready or make him some simple stuff. Even now at 11pm he's still cutting.

    He just cut this now.

    Screenshot 2024-07-19 211824.png

It's a screenshot cause he doesn't type much if at all. He does voice messaging or video's

What CAD program are you using? I need to get into CAD. I need to finish my engineering degree lol. I just can’t decide whether to go electrical or mechanical at this point. These darn trucks and LA Sports run my life!!!

Fusion 360, mainly cause it's free and I use it for my CAM as well since the post processor is available for my controller.

I did have Solidworks, and I can get it again, but seemed a bit too technical to just open up and start designing.

Plus I recently learned how to properly create flanges in 3D and turning it into a flat DXF pattern for cutting on CNC which was how I got that internal bracket damn near perfect in one shot.

Only 1/16" on one side and only 3/32" off on the other - the issue was that I didn't input the correct sheet metal rules as I didn't account for my 90 degree die, 1.5" opening, and 30 degree punch used.

    CAD = drawing

    CAM = manufacturing

CAM will take the CAD, and interpret it in a manner that the machine will understand.

In many cases, just movement direction and speed.

Depending on the manufacturing process, a few other necessary components like spindle speed for milling, pierce delay for plasma, and more.

It's easy stuff really. I'm self-taught, hell no degree in anything.

Purchased Toyota Certified, with Vijay bumpers, additional lights, and Falken Wildpeaks on Fuel rims. Prev owner apparently painted the grill.
3d printing is more accessible than CNC plasma cutting. Once we get a final tie down I will post the file, if people have access to a printer, they can print it themselves. I'm willing to print for those who do not have printers. I've never sold prints before, but I can figure out time and materials on the machine.

It probably does make sense once @Kwikvette gets past prototype and fitment stages for me to send them to him and he can ship it with the steel if he is willing to.

@Kwikvette, do you feel like the single layer is enough? From memory it's about 0.325" with a radius for the rope or strap, which seems like enough for rope being used to tie down loads in a Taco. It is possible to make the plastic the bread in a steel sandwich, to get more rounding, but that feels excessive to me.

@Kwikvette dmed. Looks like sizing up the steel make for slight discrepancy in fit.

Plate in bed is correct, however the plate that butts up to that (L bend) need to have the holes moved over as shown in measurement.

Bending the L plate out a little bit would probably be a band aid fix for this, however fire sets likely need to have nuts more towards the tailgate by the measurement I sent.
