:notsure: Good afternoon Porch Pals & Sue! Got up, found the wife and reminded her I was supposed to remind her of something, and it was already done. So, I laid back down on the bed and woke up an hour later. Got some coffee, made it to the chair, and she's off to deliver some foods to a celebration of life, dog holds my legs down, and BAM! Two hour nap. Finally to through the morning phone routine, and the sleep apps give me a high score! Go figger!

The 66 looks nice Carl! And I think it deserves some Cragar time for at least a month out of the summer.

    Like those old Chevies.
Some of my lanterns, stoves, lamps. Missing three years of the small Primus 96 stoves going back to 1910.

Should have added, 17 of my Primus 96 stoves are 100 or older. Going back to 1910 to somewhere in the late 60's, all nine versions of the stove. A couple other stoves are some where around 100, they just don't have date codes or dating like the Primus stoves.
Thanks for indulging me. Will have to add a pic of what they look like later.

Brings back youthful memories. That is the only car that shut down my 67 Chevy Nova with a vet engine and later my 67 GTO with a 400 ci engine. Not by much but he beat me. And it was blue just like yours.

    And you're welcome Rob!

THAT'S REALLY INTERESTING Sprig, you knew and ran someone who had one back in the day, those cars were not common, often wondered how many are still around that aren't clones, there were 1,856 big bodies that came with the L-72 427.
I have only seen 13 factory B body 427 Chevys in almost 60yrs., some of which were the 385 or 390hp versions.
The 1965 B body with the L-78 (425hp 396) had around the same production numbers, I have never seen one of them, but I knew of, and saw, a couple of the 65 409's which are also pretty scarce,

Here’s the story. One summer evening in 68 or 69 I was on the freeway on my way out to cruise the strip (strip like in American Graffiti). The 427 came up along side me , we looked at each other and punched it at the same time. He pulled out ahead and stayed a car length or so ahead of me. Missed our exit by 3 exists. Shut it down at somewhere over 120++ mph. I thought he had a 396 and my buddy was giving me a bad time for getting beat by a 396. Later that evening I saw the guy at a hamburger place on the strip. I pulled in and started talking to him. Told him I’ve never been beat by a 396. He smiled at me opened the hood and said you still haven’t been beat by a 396 but you have been beat be a 427. I believe the 427 stickers were removed from his car. Also a 427 beat my Nova SS at Friday night grudge matches at the Fremont drag strip. My Nova was completely modified putting out over 400hp. Lucky I survived those days.

Back in ‘67? taking the bus home to where our family lived in Nevada, a Senior HS student had his Malibu out at the junction a couple miles outside town, laying down smoke for I’d guess a 100 yards. His parents owned the Chevron in town and his dad I believe was Justice of the Peace at the time.

It helps to have a good source of used tires if you like doing burn outs. My buddies and I were always hoarding good rubber from the back of gas stations.

I was clocked at 140+ by the Highway Patrol once. Fun times. I'd do it all again...

I beat a 428 cobra jet mustang at the drags one night. He walks over and says that 396 is strong..
    66 Chevelle SS 396 emblems.
Then I insulted him even more when I picked up the hood and he saw the SBC sitting in a massive engine bay….
