Do you think 2 inch Mcneil glass would be worth it with the TC +2 kit? My plan is to run the same wheels but 33-34in tires.

Started the last week of December and was in the dirt Feb 24.
Well it started with 5 straight days of work and that got us to the point where we could drop the cage and fully weld the major pieces. After that it took 5 weekends to get it what I would call waterproof....as in all the holes cut thru the body completly covered and welded in and a lot of body sealant. If i had to do it again I'm pretty sure it would be much quicker...even though IMO we did it pretty quickly for 2 guys having never done it before. Instructions...ya they dont exist excepy for a few pages of CAD views telling where each tube goes. Its up to you to figure out what need to be cut to make space for the cage. Where to cut the holes in the floor for the cage to go thru....gotta figure that out too. Granted with the way the cage goes together its pretty obvious. Also I took a suggestion from @81Trekker to cut the holes once and cut them big thru the floor so you have plenty of room to weld. The biggest pain on the access cab is where the C-Pillar tubes go thru the floor....its curved like a ski jump so fabbing up that closeout plate was a bit challenging. Though for the DC pics posted it looks like all the tubes going thru the floor it looks flat so that makes making the close out plates much easier. I also reached to a guy on instagram who did the first Access cab cage from TeDesigns for some pictures and he got me those plus a bunch of other good advice...really cool dudde from Utah that races his truck. @splash_nash
Again heres the link to a album with all the pics i took of the installation https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBhq11

Just thought of this quote ive seen and it totally applies to a cage install "80% of the work takes 20% of the time...20% of the work takes 80% of the time."

I was talked out of the glass by Jesse at JD. He convinced me if i had gone with a 3+ or more LT kit to go with glass but the 2.25 kit he didn't think it was necessary and I do like the look.

Do you rub anywhere on the stock fenders? I do have to repaint anyways due to the defect with the white 2nd gens, toyota says my vin isn't coveted in the paint recall even though I'm haveing the same problem as all the recall vehicles.

Fenders are trimmed for 35's no rubbing at all. I do have the JD pivot kit makes a world of a difference.

Absolutely accurate. Especially when hand notching every single tube. I had days on my cage that only 2-3 tubes were done in a day.

December 1st to Mid may on mine. But again. Bumper to bumper, seats, battery relocation etc.

Either way. Plan for significant downtime even with the kit.

Could this tube be eliminated and still keep the cage integrity? I don't have any clue on cage fabrication. I wouldn't be doing the install myself.

Absolutely. That’s a secondary a-pillar and not needed unless you plan on a tumble at 100mph.

Thanks. I just think it would be a comfort issue as a daily driver. No plans for 100mph tumbles! :fingerscrossed::rofl:

after I fuck it up on my truck, yeah, I’d offer install.

really, once I do the first one on my truck, I’ll know how much is involved, and the ins and outs and how to better price it out. I’d be happy to install.

Mine came with that tube also and I did not put it in. The only other tubes I didnt put in were the 45* ones at the bottom of the access cab part circled in red. Wanted to make sure I had some kind of easy access to the extra cab part.

Shit now you have me looking at the JD kit. Those travle numbers are better for only extending a quarter inch farther.

Crazy how soft this SUA is. I weigh like 150 pounds and make it sag like 2 inches if I stand on the frame

Kinda worried about having 2 spares and a buncha tubing back there haha

You’ll be surprised how much stiffer it will be with shocks.
