Damn I love that sound. Brings back memories of some muscle cars in the 60’s and early 70’s.

:( I can't compete with a full on race engine! But thanks to GEICO, and their ineffective "DriveEasy" APP I have to run to save money after all the TX price increases, I have to replace my phone mount. I have bluetooth calling, Text on the Garmin, and I never use the phone hand held. The app (since they improved it!) constantly report "phone handling". I used my Amazon bonus monies, and got some Ram Mount stuff. It came over a couple days, and I stuck it in there today. I'll adjust tomorrow, and see how it goes.

Motorcycle ball mount, medium arm and large phone. On the A bolt. Not new idea.

I spent a lot of time with Dad in the pits all around MichIana. Racing cams are special. Especially lots of them. It always starts sounding like a military drum beat, but then he loses the cadence, and then all the drunk drummers pitch in to help! (Process that, and you know I'm right! A small reason I love old radials so!)

Aggressive camshaft profiles get that lope sound from the lobe separation angle between the intake lobe and exh lobe Centerline . The way the lobes are designed . My Hydraulic roller cam has a LSA of 108° and you tell by how choppy the exh note

Then add in cam duration or how long the valve stays open and the overall lift which is how much the valve opens dictates the sound you hear also

My cam is so aggressive if I'm driving down a street with no load on the engine you will hear the cam lope . I've heard it lope at 30-40mph

A new neighbor moved his senior HS age son up from a midget to a full on sprint car, I can easily hear it from five acres away. When he hits the throttle, it is instantaneous. They’ve been working on a couple gremlins I think, one was a clogged fuel filter.

    ^^ this

I have the USAA version....SafePilot I'm not "allowed" to even use the hands free through the Outback or I get a point taken off. I get dinged for "phone handling" "hand held calling" or "hands free calling"-- do they ding you for speaking with others in the car???? and "harsh braking" -- what do they want me to do - hit the Jack A$$ that pulls out 10 feet in front of me?? I've been using it for about 2 years now and I'm not sure I want to keep it. I like your set up there.

    evening gang.

My State Farm agent has asked me a couple times if I wanted to put their device in my truck. I told him no, it won't like my driving. I brake hard, turn aggressively and have been known to bruise speed limits. Despite those bad factors, I've had 2 insurance claims in nearly 50 years of driving - 1 was a deer strike, the other was approx. $6k in damages to both vehicles. I push the limits at times so I know where the edge is if sh$t does hit the fan.

When GEICO introduced the app, (and I want the discount, thank you), I went through the usual learning curve, and hard braking (let's see; run the stop signal, rearend the jerk that pulls out.... ) took some time. My phone just sits there in a holder, and I get calls through the audio (hands free), and now I even get Text through Garmin if it's plugged in. I don't TOUCH the thing. We both had scores very high before they "upgraded the app." Now, it says, I am HANDLING (not USING) the phone for extended periods on short trips around town. I'd love to be that popular, but even the wife and dog seldom call or text. They have no one to contact, no number to call, no place to complain. And it's freaking annoying, that I can do nothing. I've bugged several agents who think I want to change my contract, but they can't do anything. So, I'm doing this, and will continue to be annoying as I can, despite their reassurance, that I'm not being penalized! I consider annoyance a penalty! (This is my answer for "phone handling" as it should provide less movement)

The discount would be nice, but I figured that that was where they were heading and didn't want to play their game. I don't use the phone while driving except to take a call from relatively few people...and only hands free at that, phone is connected to the truck. I've always felt that driving is serious business. When behind the wheel, the vast majority of my concentration is on driving...road conditions, what traffic is doing, is that dipsh$t really going to change lanes into me? If they do, I will be ready to cope and avoid. I guess you could say that not having that wreck is my bonus or discount. When I come to a stop, I'm checking my 6 to make sure I don't have to bail and have an escape route planned. A lot of my driving has evolved from my many years of riding motorcycle. Your best defense is a good offense.
