I doubt your current PT employer will be surprised you are leaving
Just communicate properly and give them as much notice as possible - aka 2 weeks
And don't be a lazy shit the last 2 weeks of that job [I don't think you will but it is a common occurrence]

I've been looking for a new job - my current [PT] boss knows this, cause I told him
I didn't want him hearing it from other people
He'll be sad when I go [for a minute] cause I am a good employee
But the show will go on

When I apply for new jobs and it asks when I am available - I always say 2 weeks from the application date
Of course that [date] may not hold because it takes time to review applications/interview/blah but that is how I lay things out - I will need 2 weeks from a firm offer, so my old employer can adjust/compensate. Any new employer should respect that you want to give your old employer some notice [2 weeks].
