"2024 Bronz Oxide - Pending Aug Delivery"
    I
live in the Northeast (Mt Washington Valley, NH) and am trying to sort through buying OEM parts for a soon-to-be-delivered Tacoma TRD Offroad. It will be coming in equipped with 5" Bed, IForce 8 Speed Automatic, with option package ($4,640), tonneau hard tri-fold cover, body side molding, door edge guards, door panel scuff protectors, mudguards, and spray-in bedliner. Total Out-the-Door Cost of ($49,340). Are there any accessories that forum members believe make sense to buy now to get the 3-year warranty? I'm having a hard time justifying "installed accessory costs" for example, "front aluminum skid plate" which is an easy 4-bolt install. Are there any dealer items that make sense, or should I disregard the 3-year warranty opportunity?

If those accessories are already on the sticker, then you've bought them.

3 yr warranty at what cost... I would get it if it is free... usually the extended warranty that a dealer wants to sell you is a scam to take your money.... dont be that guy...

No. There's anywhere from a 20-50% markup vs what you would pay buying it yourself and installing it.

I think it means that if the dealer installs it at the time of purchase, then it is covered under the existing vehicle warrantee.

The skid plate is removed and reinstalled every six months for oil changes... Warranty doesn't cover damage off-road. For a skid plate, that means the warranty isn't worth the paper it's written on.
