Everything is going up, except my paycheck. Haha!

It is really a $20 or so mod if folks want to spend the time. Me, I was just tired of waiting for it.

Installed the OEM kit today. Very easy and clean. Hardest part was a few tight areas to ziptie around exhaust.
Ended up paying 136 shipped. So yeah, not cheap, but not too bad either. I think, for me, this is going to turn out to be one of those must have mods. I work sometimes very early, few hours before the sun comes up and Ive noticed in the short time Ive had the truck that fumbling around with the key in the dark is not something I want to do when Im still half asleep and groggy.
I set it to unlock with all the doors on 1 push of the fob and it works just as you guys said it would with keyless entry.
    Thanks again for the help.

Bought the Pop n lock first off. Don't recall the issue but unhappy with it, returned and bought Toyota from dealer for not much more.
Works great. Considering how I can mod one for the tailgate that swings down on ARE DCU contractor cap.

I recently installed a P&L on my mine. Local dealer wanted $240ish for an OEM unit. P&L was $130 on Amazon. No issues so far and I love it.

This thread was 2 years old, so you'd probably get more responses if you started a new thread.

To answer your questions: Yes, that is the correct PN for a short bed. It's called 'extra long' in the catalog, which is strange. The ones for the LB are called 'super long'. I installed one on my 2023 DCLB last weekend and am pleased with its function.

Yes, your key will still work as it normally does.

I opted for OEM just because I'm wary of after-market stuff. I bought from the online Toyota parts site and had it delivered to my local dealer. $136 total - cheaper than the Amazon offerings. Each dealer individually sets their discount price so check with all the local dealers in your area. Please note that the online discount price at a dealer is going to be lower than the price they quote if you call or visit them.

    Good luck.

I would lean towards the OEM lock kit. I bought a new Tacoma last year that came with the Pop n lock installed at the port. The actuator quit working before the truck was a year old. I have seen several reports of problems with the aftermarket option.
