Well, before my 06 was my taco, it had apparently had some damage.. When i was washing/waxing my truck for the first time after i bought it used, i noticed red paint coming off on my towel when applying the wax in a bunch of spots on the front bumper/fenders. Also noticed the left front fender panel does NOT have a vin on it.. a bunch of repaint on the front end.. Kind of depressing, Nothing showed up on the car fax when i was buying it..

One time I was backing up and backed up on to the hood of a lowered miata. Left a HUGE gash on the hood but I paid him 180 bucks and called it even. I just got about and inch of white paint on my tow package. rubbed it off:D

i scratched/dented the tailgate while helping my buddy move his freakin' Soul Caliber 2 arcade game from the lift gate of the seller's truck to the bed of mine. as i closed the gate i literally shouted, "OH S**T!"
It was all my fault as i was guiding the other truck in but my buddy still feels bad.
think i'll go get a quote for the tailgate and a color matched grille!

    None, yet.
I was hit in the right rear side by a semi truck heading home from work last week. Did $10,000 worth of damage. It knocked my driveshaft out of the tranny, cocked the rear end and scraped the whole right side of the truck.

I had my truck for all of 3 days and less than 200 miles on it before it got it's first boo boo. I had a really bad storm overnight; hail, high winds, freezing rain, etc. The wind was bad enough to pick up my gas grill from the side of my house and put it on it's front right up against my garage door. I back my truck in the garage and leave for work when it's still dark out. It was impossible to see it laying in the driveway right infront of the truck from the drivers seat. When I pulled out it scraped the shit out of the front bumper and spun around and scratched the passenger fender and door. Luckily the scratches on the paint wetsanded and buffed out, but you can't buff plastic. :(

lame, seems the general discussion forum is accessible only to members...

    here's a c/p of the first post:

    Hey guys,

I posted about this in an unofficial trail run thread (because I was on my way to meet the guys for the run when it happened) but maybe it deserves it's own thread, so here it is.

I'll preface this by saying that nobody was seriously hurt.

I was heading to Bragg to meet up for the unofficial trail run at Mclean today.

Just outside of Calgary, on the #1 headed west in the right most lane.

i was on a straight away, open road, no other traffic, maintaining about 100km/h (with studded snow tires that didn't seem to help much).

Without warning, the truck got a bit squirrely and before I knew it I was pointed at the dividing ditch with no hope of recovery. I knew from the speed and angle we were entering the ditch with that it was going to get ugly. Sure enough, as soon at the tires hit the deep hard snow we were airborne. It's hard to say what happened from inside the truck, but we rolled at least once, maybe 3 times, and we also think there might have been a flip onto the roof. we came to a stop in the ditch on the other side of the highway. We had crossed 4 lanes of traffic. Thankfully no other vehicles were involved.

At one point while we were still rolling i came to the horrifying realization that my left arm was outside of the vehicle. I remember trying my damnedest to get that arm back inside or I knew i could be in serious trouble.

Anyway, when we were no longer being tossed around like rag dolls I realized the truck was still rolling a bit so I hit the brakes and we finally came to a complete stop. That's when I noticed the engine was still running and shut off the ignition.

My passenger and I looked at each other to make sure we were both ok. I climbed out of the truck from the passenger side cause there was no way i was getting my door open. Other motorists were quick on the scene and helped bandage my hand which was bleeding pretty badly.

When the ambulance pulled up it slid for at least 20 feet before it was able to come to a complete stop and a police truck slid into the ditch, so it was clearly pretty gnarly out there.

I'm sure there's a bunch of my stuff in the centre ditch a little bit west of calaway park, weezle might be lucky enough to find a big ziplock bag full of gopro mounting hardware that I'm sure is worth over $300 if he feels like going to check it out, there should be a hi-lift out there too unless someone put it back in my truck bed. A lot of stuff was thrown from the cab..

I've been told my truck is in Cochrane and I'm headed out there tomorrow afternoon to make a statement with the rcmp.

I'm feeling very lucky to have gotten out of this with such minor injuries and incredibly grateful that my passenger/good friend didn't get seriously hurt.

Hopefully pics of what's left of my truck tomorrow.

Now where am I going to find a 2nd gen tacoma double cab with a short bed and the offroad package in Canada??

Flooded the interior today. That mud hole was deceiving...

Luckily I shut the truck off before the intake sucked up any water. Winched my way out (winch worked underwater, good to know).
