My 2008 did not come with the controls

I have the proper wheel and controls that I bought off of marketplace.

I was told it should just plug and play

of course it does not as the clock spring is different

My question: IF I get the proper clockspring ( part number anyone??) is that ALL i need to put in?

Is there something ( besides the control buttons) else that needs to connect to the clock spring?

    Anyone else here done this?

Trying to be as specific as I can so thanks for the patience and any help you can provide

    Thanks!
    Peter

Small lift, slightly oversized tires, well...
I don't know for sure, but I would assume that there needs to be a harness from the head unit to the clock spring. And that would assume that the head unit has that functionality to begin with. That's a whole lotta assuming.

Good question....I'm not sure about the answer. Hopefully someone here knows.

There's gotta be some wiring that goes to the stereo but I'm not sure if it's all a part of the same wiring harness.

I did swap a stereo with a stereo from a rig that had steering controls. The plugs in the back were all the same. Both trucks stereos worked in the other without problem. Steering controls worked on the other stereo no problem.

One big thing to consider is, You'll need the different air bag too. It's like $1000 so that's what stopped me. If you've got all that I'd try a cheap after market clock spring

    Good Luck!

I just made this upgrade to my 06 this spring. Had the factory single disk, swapped in the controls and a clockspring and it immediately started working. Honestly, the connections from the clock spring to the column are the hardest part of the whole swap. I bought an OEM clockspring from my local dealer, picked up the controls and airbag second hand. My airbag technically came off of a 2004 4Runner

EDIT: Saw that you asked for a PN. I bought 84306-0E010 from my local dealer for ~$300 and it worked perfectly

So no additional wire harness? Just change out the clock spring?
