I've used an attachment on my hi-lift that is very similar to that. It uses straps instead of a chain, but I found it to be a very useful tool.

Yeah I have that attachment but the mouth on the Tauler Jack is too wide to use that tool so that one will likely go back on the Tacoma to use with the high lift there.

No real welding, just tack welds today.

The goal of the design I'm working on is to add versatility to it, so you don't need different noses. Also working on making it compatible with the hi-lift accessories, including an off road base that can additionally safely pair with the hi-lift base.

Only one nose would be ideal for sure.

    @Pyrotech

You should bust out your Easyscriber now that it's tightened up and ready to go; it'll really push the limits of accuracy.

For scribing something I'll cut out, I do two setups for a single drawing.

First setup will consist of all my cutting done on plasma.

My second setup will consist of the specific item(s) I want engraved, followed by a profile of the object itself.

Reason why you need this is because you can move your torch where you need it, set an origin point, and your scribing will be done wherever you need it in relation to the item itself. Simply STOP the program once you're done scribing before it engraves the final outer profile.

Once you're done scribing, load up the plasma cutting setup, swap in your consumables, fire up your plasma cutter (and THC) and let her rip.

This is assuming of course that you didn't ZERO your torch at all and simply returned it back to 'work zero', the same spot where you initially were when you did your scribing.

I went for a 0.2" letter height when I created my text in Fusion.

    20240723_104017.jpg

This resulted in a width of only 0.14".

    20240723_104042.jpg

And a spacing of only 0.02" between closed loops.

The cut wasn't half bad either

I had the PTM-60 torch when I ordered the easyscriber, and they sent a scriber for the powermax45, which someone who I will not name (LOL) now has. when something happen to the torch I upgraded to the UPM-105. .. Yea.. now I have consumables that do not fit the machine torch. along with the correct for the original order easyscriber.

that is ok though, the consumables fit the hand torch, and I am going with a fixed air scribe.

    something like this, https://www.plasmaspider.com/viewtopic.php?t=15215

ignore the posters attitude early one in the thread,,,

Oh no shit, that's how it works.

I expect that thing would etch far better than the Easyscriber would since it uses spring-tension.

So you just dial up your Z axis to get your other torch out of the way or?

I'm not on Plasmaspyder but fortunately the pictures posted are visible.

The airscribe will be mounted on an air activated slide, that will lower it below the torch tip, in the post processor i can set an offset for the scribe, so I once the tool path is generated it will automatically offset the Z axis, lower the scribe, and return to to the torch position for cutting all automatically.. least its supposed to. I am sure it will be some fiddling around to get it working right. I have most everything to put it together.

Oh dro is a good idea. I only typically do a small amount of bends I want repeated at a time. Would be fairly simple to make too

Doesn't seem difficult at all that's for sure.

It's more about getting off my ass and buying some thick ass C channel and making my own press.

There's a setup I want to buy that will accept euro tooling and come with a 4 way bottom die but that alone is gonna set me back over $2k :spending:

Rather do upgrades elsewhere as my small press will handle what I need for awhile.

What kind of press brake are you running?
