Is there a huge difference between the sound of the stock stereo and JBL?

I was wondering for those who have had both or heard both...is the difference in sound quality really noticable? If you're not one to blast your music so everyone in town can hear it would the stock stereo sound good enough in your opinion?

Is that never mind? Or do you still want an answer?

In my opinion the jbl stereo sucks. I'm guessing that it's not much better than the stock stereo. It probably has the worst sound of an "upgraded" stereo. My stock stereo in my Infiniti was a million times better.

I've heard both the stock and JBL, and honestly... It's kinda tough in my opinion to tell the difference. I think the JBL might have a tiny bit more bass since it has the subwoofer in the back. But the stock one ain't that bad at all. I like my music loud most the time and I think the stock stereo does the job.

Got ya, I heard the JBL is ok. Nothing like an after market. I have regular stock right now, and I'm ok with it for now. I turn the music up here and there and I wouldn't say it sounds awful. Since the JBL has the subwoofer then your obviously going to have more bass.

My JBL is okay. Not the greatest by far. I heard my other buddies stock system and its pretty hard to tell the difference even with my subwoofer in the back. Does anyone know if its just the speakers that are different or is there something in the stereo unit itself that is also JBL?

Well I know you can't swap a regular stock for a JBL, not sure if thats cause of the subwoofer or not though. So maybe something different. I have read the plugs are different, so must have different wiring.

Can you have the subwoofer without JBL? Because I have the subwoofer but it doesn't say JBL on the head unit anywhere.

Ya I have found out messing with the EQ on the Ipod does really make a difference. I actually have the EQ turned off, and that to me seems to sound the best. Seems to be cleaner, if you know what I mean. Sorry Op, not trying to thread jack!:D:threadjacked:

    I have to disagree here.

I traded in my 2007 G35 with the upgraded Bose system, and the JBL is much better overall.

The sub in the Infiniti may have been a little tighter, but the overall sound quality was not as good as my JBL...

The truck I'm getting has the stock system in it, which from the sounds of things will be okay for me. I don't plan on blasting the music.

Ya if your not blasting it, my opinion it will be just fine. I have had mine pretty loud and I'm happy with it for now. Atleast till I get money to go aftermarket. Maybe even just changing out the speakers.
