I believe that the 2024 Tacoma TRD OR Hybrid will come with 18 inch rims. I do mild to moderate off roading. I do most of my off roading in Big Bend NP and the nearby state park. Merus Adventure park near Amarillo warrants a return trip where I will stick with the easier trails. I drive slow and like to ease the truck on down the road. Are the 18 inch rims a problem?

Are they ideal for off roading? No. 16/17s are probably ideal depending on tire diameter in my mind. I am making the assumption that you will not have 35s+ on your 18s otherwise disregard, haha. More sidewall on 16-17" wheels and thus far more ability to air down thus providing better surface area as well as more resiliency to punctures. My opinion is you will be absolutely fine on mild trails. Moderate can include a lot of things. Should be fine as well, but upper end of moderate would have more risk than I would like personally so just be cautious. But as usual just depends on where you are at, what terrain, and what size tires you have.

TLDR: No, it isn't necessarily a problem, but also no they are not ideal.
