Fisher plow

I’m considering the purchase of a new 2024 Tacoma double cab. will the Fisher HS series plow be adaptable to this vehicle? I have made two info requests online to Fisher with no response. I have been using a Snoway 22 on my 2012 Taco, but prefer to get into a Fisher product with the new truck. The unit will be used only on my own driveway.

It comes equipped from the factory with its own snowplow...
You just need to airdown the tires which also improves traction...
I opted to remove mine...
FYI, removing the snowplow drastically decreases your fuel economy by .1 mpg...

 

My drive way (dirt) is over a 1/4 mile I have a Fisher Homesteader on my 2011 since new. Don't want to beat up your truck or the plow? Plow slowly in low range, push the snow don't try to launch it into the neighbors yard. The time you "waste" in low range will make up for damaged parts. I'm in Maine and my truck is a 6 speed. Surprised Fisher didn't get back to you they usually are pretty good.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't even made a kit for it yet!

 

Plowing will drop your mileage dramatically I don't care if it's a diesel dully. The plow it's self is a pretty good air dam. Fisher plows are easy to get on an off.

I can't answer for sure but I going to guess if there is any difference in years it is only in the plow mount on the ends of the front frame that basically is the only mounting to the truck the rest of the hardware is on the plow, lights, mounts, pump motor and the plow frame support when it's not on the truck.

 

I am also considering the 2024 but waiting to see who will make a plow for it. I have had a 2011 and 2016 and just do my own plowing (1/4 mile driveway) and sometimes the neighbors. I use a Fisher Homesteader Plow (Poly blade) which has now been discontinued (RS Model is what I need now). I have contacted Fisher and my local dealer several times since January and they both say "nothing has been announced yet". So I wait before ordering a new truck. I ignore all the comments regarding problems plowing with a Tacoma. If you plow commercially, I would recommend a bigger truck, but for me its perfect. The Fisher plow(s) I owned have been great. Easy on /easy off....great hydraulics. Ill keep an eye out and post anything if I hear news.

 

I have a Snoway 22 on my 2016 and I think the companies need some time and a donor vehicle to create the plow mount, build/test the light harness. I bet Fisher, Snoway, Western, etc.. are all working on it. If you lived close enough, you could offer the vehicle for measurements and maybe get a discount.

BTW, my Snoway is for sale. I won't need it where I'm headed.

 

You might have a look at the front frame and see if it the same as an earlier one if it is there should be no problem for the Fisher plow mount

Been plowing with my 2011 for several years it snows a lot in Maine. 1' plow in low range 2' push it don't try to launch into the neighbors yard. My road is dirt/gravel over 1/4 mile no problem.

 

Depends if you're coastal or inland. I'm in Saint John, New Brunswick, the last 3 winters have been pretty tame, never got more than 6" in one sitting since I got my tractor. And my inlaws in Edmundston (across the river from Madawaska, ME) they get a shit load of it.

 

I was able to speak with someone at Fisher who told me “I assume it will be available by winter”. I have a 24 on order expecting delivery in September so I’m holding my breath. My alternative is to hang on to my 2012 and Snoway just in case.

 

I was going to plow my very hilly driveway here in NH with my Tacoma. I asked the forum here etc... I did better, got a JD2025r which does a great job and does not beat up my daily.

1025R with a rear mount blower. I just bought a used UTV plow and will modify it to attach to the loader quick attach or to the frame of the pallet forks with the forks removed. Undecided, but leaning towards fitting it to the pallet fork frame as it would require less fabrication.

 

I like my JD, but dislike the aspect of not have the skid steer quick connect like Kubota, Bobcat, Massey, etc.... I am buying a plate, lack of better word, so I can use skid steer attachments.

Let me know how this works, as a plow would speed up my removal time and always willing to try new thing.

 

My friend has one on his 1026R, the one downside is the front is light, so when pushing snow, the front wheels lift off the ground and can't steer because there's no split brakes. I think your 2025R does have split brakes.

I was tempted by the SSQA instead of the JDQA, but the

1025R can only lift 800 lbs, and if I add a 100 lbs adapter, I'm down to 700 lbs. There isn't much I'd like to add to the front anyway, I have a bucket, the forks, making a plow. A grapple would be nice, but I don't have an extra hydraulic connection.

 

I mean worst comes to worst you might need to hire a local welder to fab up some brackets for you to make it fit
