Maybe it skipped a tooth when I was trying to jump start it with a flat battery? Or I damaged the timing belt when moving the timing cover out of the way? Or the timing belt is just old and worn out.

It just doesn't make sense to me how the passenger side has kept in time while drivers is out. The only way I can picture that happening should be almost impossible to actually happen just out of the blue.

It may seem strange, but I found it to be the cause of a couple other "misfiring on one side" threads. See below. Maybe the drivers side cam cracked or wore out, or a tensioner went bad on that side? I also had a randomized misfire, so it may well have been missing on all cylinders.

These must be the good relatives of the ones here; lol. Couple of the younger ones were eating rotten apricots from the neighbors tree last night while we were in the driveway installing my snorkel. Didn't take pictures of them though. They are as common as a dog around here. Forest puppies.

I feel like when the fan clutch bracket broke, some things stopped moving and others kept going. Just bad luck.

Didn't you claim it was only half-interference if timing jumped :stirthepot:

Maybe lol. I guess the bigger concern would be cylinder wash down with all the unburnt fuel.

that's how you get rid of all the sludge deposits in the crank case. I think that's why my oil came out black and smells of gas last time I changed it lol

Quick trip to Harbor Freight to plumb my air jack; gotta love those Merlin connects.

    20240723_153840.jpg

Quickly cut and bent another half set.

    20240724_131307.jpg

    Then onto tank maintenance.

    20240724_112053.jpg

Happy with how quickly these floaters grow since I'm constantly tossing a lot out each week.

    20240724_113141.jpg

    Everyone's happy again.

Rated to do 1/4" the whole 10" width.

Have yet to try any as it can do 1/4" up to 5/8" but without the use of the bottom die.

Got the press specifically for the tight bend radius on 3/16" and thinner with use of the die.

This is what I want to buy next -

Over $2k but at least it uses (and comes with) euro dies which are the most common in the industry.
