I think the only way I can get a C load with factory rims is in the cookie cutter.

Fun thing I found was the Cooper Discover Stronghold E rated weigh 10 pounds less than my At4W C rated. Check the load rating these days.

Gonna add this bad boy. For 17" Rims Falken 280/70 has an SL that is way lighter and has less tread than the C.

Anyone running the AT4Ws have opinions on the change in performance/weight going to a C load from an SL tire?

I'm currently have been running AT3W 265/75R16 on 2020 TRD Pr wheels, and really like the combo. I am looking at AT4W slightly upsized in either LT255/85R16 or P285/70R17 (~33") for my next tire setup when the time comes. I've not run LT tires before so I'm not experienced with how much the change in ride quality and performance would.

I checked weight and when accounting for the heavier 17" wheels needed for a P285 vs the lighter wheels for a LT255 the wheel/tire combo weights I am looking like don't seem to different. Wheels will be picked based off what I choose for tires.

I'm currently running AT3W 265/75R16 SL tires but just ordered AT4W LT255/85R16 C rated tires from @Discount Tire. Should be getting them installed this Friday. Will report back here how it goes.

Got the 255/85R16 put on today. Had to remove my front mud flaps and still very slightly rubbing on bit of the fender liner. Going in for an alignment in a couple days then will assess things from there. Pretty smooth though from my short ride home. Coming from a 265/75 Ridge Grappler.

Looks great!! I’ve been so close to pulling the trigger on a set of 255s recently but I have a strong pull to the 265/75 e rated falkens as well. Plus I’m debating with myself on where to prioritize my next purchase. I have a Diamondback SE sitting in my cart begging me to finish the checkout :annoyed:

Lookin good! What are the specs on your wheels and lift? I've been looking at making the jump to 255s as well.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm running the same wheel specs. Would you say you're running around 2" up front? Please let me know what the results are after alignment. Seriously considering doing the same. Thanks!

Yeah, about 2" up front and in the rear. But the alignment will determine how well these fit and if I need to cut/trim.

This looks great and has convinced me, after much internal debate, that 255/85R16 is the way to go. Gotta ask, what sliders are you running there? I like how tucked up in there they are as well. Thanks!

They are RCI sliders with the 20 degree angle.

Awesome! That is what I thought based on the two tube geometries. I actually have the DCSB version on order from them that I ordered the same time as their roof rack, which I love. Just waiting for them to get caught up after their July 4th sale but nice to see it on another rig with the 33s I'm hoping to pull the trigger on soon.
