Its got many mistakes but works for what it is. I did keep it warm enough to not freeze for part of winter but it took a lot of propane.

Serious greenhouse there. I’ve been looking at the small kit jobs from Home Depot/Lowe’s and trying to start plants next year for the garden.

Any Amish in your area? They are the people to go to for decks and greenhouses.
We are saving up for a greenhouse to pay the Amish to travel from KY to GA to put up ours.

The mrs and I have been referring to "The Amish" since 2010, in all ways they have been right. It's amazing what they've endured from the agencies. If it wasnt for their battles with the agencies, i wouldnt be enjoying the benefits of drinking local raw goats milk.

They are not controllable, agencies do not like that.

i cant wait to try raw milk. Louisiana just passed a bill that will allow it. I'm just hoping the governor signs it. fingers crossed. as of now the best i can get my hands on is Kalona Supernatural milk which is low temp pasteurized and non homogenized and its far better than the "regular" stuff on the shelf.

    Berry Bandits!

Funny laugh we had this morning as the mrs and I were tending to our two fenced in garden areas. I'm shoveling soil into beds, getting them prepped early for fall planting. She's pruning some greens growing inside the pineapple garden. Quiet until we both heard a thud on the ground, and looked up towards the sound, which happened to be 75 feet away on our fruit tree berm. A mango had dropped down to the ground, it was inside a quart plastic container I use to protect them from pests. We both then watched a squirrel drop down from the tree and start surveying the encased mango. I started yellin at it for a little bit, until i saw that wasn't swaying the bandit to retreat. So I hopped the garden 3 ft fence, and approached the squirrel. Got to 8ft away and the squirrel wouldnt budge, he was trying to figure out how to get his prize out from the container, ignoring "the giant" eight feet away. The mrs and I started laughing pretty hard at the stubborness of the squirrel. Little bastrd wouldnt leave until I got closer and gave him a "You little bstrd!", then he scooted away begrudgingly.

So now, we have 2 mangos left on the tree, encased and a brown paper bag over that. They probably have another week to two before ready to pick.

The squirrel gnawed through the plastic to nibble on the mango, then ate the stem so it would fall to the ground.

I hear you. If I had one on me, he might've been perforated. Been using a nice break-barrel .22 on the Iguanas here. Temperred the squirrels from our front yard quava array last year, so far they haven't tried this year. BB's wouldnt even deter them, had to step it up a notch, unfortunately.

I had to thin out some squirrels in MD. The house we bought there had 3 or 4 apple trees and when the lady accepted our offer tgere was tons apples on trees. By the time we closed was about 1 month later and no apples. My wife says, " do you think the lady picked all the apples?" I said i wouldnt think so but you never know.

So the next year...our first year in the house there was apples again. So i worked a lot hours back then and as i pull up i see squirrels running off with the small green not even close to ripe apples!! I got about half harvest of apples that year...after i started shooting them! The following year had a full harvest of apples. I prob took 36+ squirrels...

Yup, almost a dozen last year here. I left the last couple where they dropped, that seemed to keep the herd at bay.

I want to get a bb gun and shoot them, not hard enough to kill them, but enough to get them to realize that my yard isn't a good place for them. Neighbor trapped some a few years ago and put them out of his misery, but he felt bad about it, so quit.
