I've got one of those Alpinestars Bionic Action jackets and knee pads and always wear them when I'm riding even just fire roads. I just wasn't planning to do any of that, so I was dressed for casual daily riding kind of stuff. The MX jersey was just the lightest-weight shirt I had clean. Lmfao. Still not sure why I decided to wear my MX boots that day, but I might not be walking right now if I hadn't been. The bike landed on my left leg and it's sore as hell right up to where the boots started.

Yeh I know I've got a long way to go before I'll even try to pretend I know what I'm doing on dirt. This was one of those "time to stop being scared" moments where I just decided to try something. Lol. The silly thing is the crash didn't even happy because of the jumps or the terrain. Just me not paying enough attention to my line. My rear tire is basically bald and I needed to stay out of the slick mud. And I didn't. :anonymous:

As a 300 owner, I can tell you that's what these bikes were made for. 8K oil changes, valve check every 16K. They're stupid simple and reliable. The suspension really is a weak point for them though. It hasn't bothered me much since I stay within its limits. I read about what it was going in, but I still compared it to my old YZ125

I feel your pain moving the big girl around.

Where do you run your SAE on the bike? I used the dumb "tool box" that covers the battery for SAE and switched USB. At least in Canada the tool kit is only a fuse puller and a Phillips screwdriver..

Drop bracket lift and booger welds
Not to mention you can't cut the throttle on it unless you want the back of the bike to slap you in the ass.

Also not only will bark busters protect your hands but they will add rigidity to the bars and make them less prone to bending.

Keep 'em coming y'all! Please give me all of the tips! lol

Also, I did actually just finish putting some on last night with the new bars, although they're the Acerbis version of barkbusters.

Which guards did you go with? Debating the Acerbis X-Factory with a Renthal (RC High) bar over the winter here. Curious how the fitment with the OEM levers goes.

I probably could have picked an easier trail to start with lol. But I also go to the MX track so it's a bit more necessary there I feel.

Also got knee braces and a neck brace

They do make them more rigid which also means less flex/force absorption. It is noticeable with back to back tests. They also tend to deflect off trees instead of glide past.

    I run flags.

Oooh, I actually really like your idea shown. I was about to just bin that toolbox, cuz all mine has is the stupid ikea grade screwdriver in it. Where'd you find a surface mount SAE plug?

My SAE pigtail runs out the hole in the frame supports just to the right of the upper shift linkage.

Haha it's not for everyone. most people I talk to are concerned about the danger. I find it fun personally, even though I suck.

I put on a set of Mika Metals RC bend bars with the Acerbis Rally Pro handguards. I was already running shorty levers from BestDualSport Bikes.com, so I can't answer to fitting OEM levers.
