After taking the time to ponder this, I thought I should make a remark...

I share your frustration. While I understand the need to have rules in order to keep things civil here, it's frustrating to me too. I've met and made friends with quite a few people here, when we have in person gatherings, we often have discussions and I've discovered that the vast majority share similar viewpoints.

Since this forum is how we communicate in between times we have our outings, we unfortunately can't speak our minds in the ways we'd prefer.

In the current momentous times we are living, the ability to talk about these current events in even the most basic would be wonderful. It's too bad we have to be so guarded in everything we say.

As for picking on politicians, they should all be fair game to pick on, every one of them sure gives us enough ammo for that!

I wonder if TW would ever consider allowing a sub-forum where anything goes... Maybe call it "the Pit"! lol
It would be a place where everyone understands when they enter that sensibilities could be, and probably would be bruised.

$350.00 Holy mother of Jesus that's alot.
    I think I paid $150.00 .

Yours was abused before you even got it.

But the nice thing about our group is we don't let's the P word get in our way of having a good time. Regardless of the difference in views.
I think the only things we debate is fat
or skinny, caster angle and sweet or sour.
Heck, we even went to Illinois for an event.

Where did you go for $150?
I'm willing to travel to get it done right and at a good price!

And yeah, I'm still scarred by that event in Illinois, that state is scary as hell!
I should probably see a counselor...

I'll throw in my useless two cents on the topic. While I agree most of us have talked in person and share similar views even though by no means do we align politically, if I was forced to constantly see a bunch of shit about politics on here (a truck forum, by the way), I would probably never have joined and/or just pack my bags and find somewhere else to socialize and maybe never met any of y'all. Doesn't mean I dont think anyone should have space to talk about it but I am overjoyed this forum has the rules it does because things stay mostly on topics that apply to TRUCKS.

I do believe there are deep, dark crevices somewhere in the off-topic section where people that want to expose themselves to politics can do so (but maybe I'm wrong, check with our resident mod). Personally I'd rather play in traffic with scissors but don't let me stop you from torturing yourself.

Until any of you have done solid axle swaps with lockers, super low range, superchargers, and 40" and up tires then fer cripes sake go turn some wrenches because your build is not done and those are the actual real-world problems you should be focusing on.

Dan, didn't you get the exhaust re-route done same place as Jason? Can't remember the name of it now but that's where I plan to go. Already had two shops screw it up here in Kenosha.

The Mexican place in Madison (Mex Muffler & Brakes) looked competent, I inspected some of the welds they did and the quality was spot on, but that price was on the crazy side for $10 in materials and less than an hour of work.

Consider that I paid something like $180 for my local shop (a dedicated muffler and custom exhaust shop nonetheless) to screw mine up, and now I need to pay someone else to do it right. As they say "buy once cry once" and "you get what you pay for" and suddenly it doesn't seem so expensive.

When I explained to them what I wanted I got a funny look. They did remember doing Jason's truck. Jason paid less than me. They have been around for a while.

I do tend to side with Adam @wi_taco on tge political discussion. I'm happy to have a place where we can BS about trucks and whatever without getting sidetracked by political discussion. There's enough of that shit on TV and Facebook.

It's bad enough that we're in for 4 more months of campaign ads, which should be illegal, IMO. Anyone voting on what they heard in a commercial shouldn't be allowed to vote anyway.

I'd be fine with a sub-forum for taboo discussion.

I was simply trying to make a funny about manual vs Manuel.

Anybody actually recognize the Manuel pictured?

Oh there will be some mods all right
I actually was told they tried having a anything goes section of the forums and apparently it was a spectacular failure. As it stands the only place to talk about politics or any other taboo subject is in a PM. Those are not monitored and unless something is specifically requiring moderator help (like threats of harm, harassment, or explicitly and extremely illegal stuff ) anything goes in them
