It can be fun. It takes a lot of work to be good at imo. I always hated sitting around though. Even though 20m rounds are a lot, I didn't like sitting around. Likely to get 1.5 hr of riding time for a whole day at the track and $40 fee. So weather dependent too.

Yup it is definitely hard to learn, very humbling lol. I can't say I mind the sitting around too much, it's a nice break between sessions. I've only been to one, so idk if it's run the same elsewhere, but the track I go to is open all day, just hop on and off at your leisure. Still exhausting though. I'm lucky to be in CA where weather isn't as much an issue. But trails are also limited for my bike this time of year so you take what you can get. Luckily that ends in 2025.

Something about hitting a berm well just satisfies an itch for me.

I tried to run the OEM flags in a pinch and damn near broke my hand the first ride.

NJ stick farms are no joke.

yup i had a lot of friends back in school that raced atvs or dirtbikes so i always got a chance to play around on the track they had made for practice but still never wanted to do it competitively

Most days are split by class here. Occasionally small bike and big bike. So you can go out for 20 mins then be stuck sitting around for a hour till your turn when it's split by class

I run SXS flags. The stock ones are too flexible. A damper also helps, I won't ride without one again. No more deflecting onto the other side of the trail because of those two

ah yeah I don't do it competitively or have any desire to lol. just enjoy hitting the jumps and berms as I learn

ah interesting, i had no idea dirt tracks did that. Yeah I could see that being less worth it then. Though probably better for someone like me who is still learning having to get on the track with pretty skilled people.

The one I go to has 3 separate tracks, a kids/small bike track, intermediate, and pro.

Yeah I'd like a damper eventually for that reason too

Safe travels, a lot of the good stuff goes today between the vendors. Always a good time though.

I believe he means the handguards? Flags which connect on one side vs fully wrapped ones that connect to the end of the handlebar as well?

IDK the proper terminology so hope that makes sense lol

I like my precision. Super adjustable to where it's too stiff. It has damping on return. The scotts is the major player but doesn't have return damping that I'm aware of
    Open ended va closed handguards

Oh I see do you prefer the open end over the closed ones? I have closed end metal bars with the plastic guards as well they are really nice

I talked with @FreshOldTaco about this and he had this happen as well but figured I lucked out since it didn't happen yet. Well it finally happened! Damn horn wire melted because of the engine right next to it... How lovely!

I'll have to get it fixed tonight so I can ride tomorrow. I've been riding the bike since Wednesday last week. So kinda wanna keep going with it lol. Truck has only been driven 3 times for 10ish mins?

One I'm using is some optimate brand I got off Amazon. Cut down the wires, added and inline fuse and replaced the ends with O ring terminals.

It's great for running my heated jacket, portable air compressor or charging the battery but I nearly never do that because lithium.

Also put a switched USB beside it so I can charge stuff in a pinch with the bike off, like at camp sites, and have another USB that's wired to the ignition in the OEM spot on the cowl for on the ride charging of my phone.
